Dear Barry Goldwater High School Parents & Guardians,

I am sending this letter because I have promised you that Barry Goldwater High School will take all threats seriously and keep you informed of what happens on campus.  

We are aware that some students are texting and/or calling you in hopes of leaving campus, however, we want to assure you that classes are continuing and students are safe.

We are currently investigating a possible threat that a student and parent reported to our office this morning on social media. There are many reasons to believe that this threat is non-credible.  Additional Phoenix Police officers are assisting with the investigation. BGHS administration and Phoenix Police will continue this investigation. We will not tolerate threats of any nature and will pursue the strongest consequences outlined in the DVUSD Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook.  

We will update you as soon as we know more information.  Thank you for your support towards maintaining a safe, orderly, and caring culture at Barry Goldwater High School.
