WINTER SPORTS: Winter sports tryouts are the week of 10/31. Please check mrhsathletics.com for more information.  You must be cleared by the athletics office PRIOR to trying out (physical turned in, brainbook course completed, register my athlete online registration completed)

RIDGE GIVES DAY:  #RidgeGivesDay is Saturday Oct 29th.  There are MANY sites to volunteer all day long so see Ms Moore or Mr Samaniego for a list.  These hours will count towards your Presidential Volunteer Service Award medallions.  ON CAMPUS that day.  8am we will have breakfast.  8-Noon we will get rid of the weeds on campus, update the Best Buddies garden, and remove gum from tables.  at NOON, pizza and Chick-Fil-A . Come Join us.  There is some drawing for a Chick-Fil-A pack of 4 sandwiches so be sure to sign in.  You get an entry for every hour that you work that day.  Bring sunscreen, hats, gloves and tools if you have some. Some will be provided.

Homecoming Spirit Week starts this week!  We have the results of Homecoming Royalty Nominations.  Also, tickets went on sale yesterday for the Homecoming Dance “Premiere Night”.  Make sure you get your code of conduct forms turned in before you can buy your tickets.  The dance is on Saturday, Oct. 22nd at Glendale Civic Center from 7-10pm and tickets are $30 for a single and $50 for a couple.  Tickets are available at the bookstore during lunches so beat the crowd and get yours early!!  Tickets will not be sold at the door and are limited

Okay, now it is time to reveal who YOU voted for your Homecoming Royalty Attendees.

For Sophomore Attendant:  Keean Roulinavage and Norah Abrams

For Junior Attendant:  Rylan Sands and Bella Reid

For Senior Attendant:  William Mikes and Cami Ritzler

Remember King and Queen will be announced at the football game on Friday, look for your winners and nominees in the parade on Wednesday morning.  The nominees are again:

For King: Hurshneet Chadha, Noah Munoz and Ayden Parks

For Queen:  Laken Blohm, Kianna Breuer and Alexis Cairns

Congratulations to all our winners and nominees!  Homecoming tickets are still on sell in the bookstore at lunches until Thursday at 3 PM, get your codes of conduct in and tickets bought ASAP.  Tickets are going fast.

FOOD DRIVE: The food drive HAS BEGUN! We are looking to lead the state in cans collected again, last year we collected 19,151 pounds of food in the first year after the pandemic, in 2019, we collected 20,653 pounds of food and we are looking to get even more than that this year.  Let’s be bigger and better than ever and smash our record of 240,000 cans, and reach our goal of 25,000 pounds of food!  Food Drive ends on October 31st.

ATTENTION SENIORS: All seniors will have their first graduation meeting during the 10/11 and 10/13 AcaPreps where they will hear a presentation from Jostens about ordering graduation caps, gowns, and announcements. Seniors with the last name starting A-L will attend only the 10/11 AcaPrep and the Seniors with last names starting M_Z will attend only the 10/13 AcaPrep and the meetings will be held in the Auditorium. 

NHS TUTORING: NHS is starting up after school tutoring. There will be NHS members available Monday- Thursday from 2:15-3:15pm to tutor students in all subject Areas. Each day will focus on a different content area. Mondays will focus on Math & Foreign Language, Tuesdays will focus on Science, Wednesdays will focus on ELA and Math, and Thursdays will focus on the Social Sciences. Tutoring will be held in room C223 until the Media Center construction is completed. See the NHS Tutoring flyers posted around campus to sign up. Tutoring will start September 19th and run throughout the school year.   

BOYS VOLLEYBALL CAMP:  October 17-20th and October 24-27th—Mondays-Thursdays (16 hours).   FROM 7:00-9:00pm—We are subject to changes based on the athletic schedules.   Students interested must be cleared through the athletic office and payments made through the bookstore.  Please contact Debbie Moore for more information   Debbie.moore@dvusd.org  

Dropping Off Items To Students - To minimize classroom disruptions, the following are the only things that will be allowed to be dropped off for a student during the school day:  Ipad, & lunch on an emergency basis.  If a parent needs to drop off one of the above mentioned items, a pass will be sent to the student telling them to come pick up the item from the office at the appropriate time - the items will not be delivered to the student. The only exception to this is if a parent needs to bring medication and that must be taken directly to the nurse as no student is allowed to be in possession of any prescribed and/or over the counter medication.  TO REVIEW THE ENTIRE POLICY PLEASE SEE OUR WEBSITE   https://www.dvusd.org/domain/12351

ATTENTION SENIORS:  Seniors, don't forget that you need to make an appointment at Grads Photography Studio to be included in the yearbook. Senior pictures are only taken at their studio and appointments fill up quickly. Please contact them today.

HOME GAME ATHLETIC TICKETS:  Tickets for home athletic events can only be purchased online, tickets will not be sold at the door.        To purchase your tickets go to www.mrhsathletics.com and click on the ticket link.

STUDENT ATHLETIC PASSES: Students you can avoid the online ticket fees and purchase your Student Athletic pass from the bookstore. This pass costs $30.00 and will get you into all regular season HOME games. Your student pass will be put on your Student ID card and you must show the ID card at the event.

FAMILY ATHLETIC PASSES: Parents and families can purchase a punch card to get into games 20 punches for $65.00. The family punch card can be purchase at the bookstore and is for parents and family members only and cannot be used by Ridge students to get into games.   Please visit MRHSathletics.com for more Information
