NO ONLINE PAYMENTS, NO REFUNDS

Annual Scholarship Ceremony: Attention SENIORS! SAVE THE DATE! April 30th is our Annual Scholarship Ceremony at 6:00 in the Main Auditorium. Seniors if you have acceptance letters from Colleges please turn them into Mary in Counseling, you will be acknowledged for your scholarships at this ceremony. If you are receiving a Scholarship you will get an invitation to the ceremony.

New Process for late students First hour: New process starting immediately: If a student arrives 15 minutes after the start of their first period of the day, they will remain in OCR until the end of that period. They will be marked absent for that period.

World Language Club: ¡hola, bonjour, nihao. World language club is going to have origins of the April Fools theme for the next meeting. Please join us at 2:15 on Tuesday, March 31 at room 331. Everyone is welcome.

Maricopa Foundations Scholarships: The Maricopa Foundation Scholarships are now open for Fall 2020. These scholarships give students the opportunity to APPLY FOR HUNDREDS of scholarships with ONE APPLICATION and All students regardless of immigration status, and GPA. Last year, The Maricopa Foundation awarded over $100,000.00 to PVCC students. The application process is only open from March 1 to April 20. Students can access the scholarships at the PVCC scholarship web site by clicking on the MCCCD Foundation Scholarship link or by going directly to the MCCCD Foundation site at https://mcccdf.academicworks.com/

Cadet Program (Flex): The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office will be in the Jag Center during Flex Time on March 26th to share information about the Cadet Program. The Cadet Program provides high-schoolers with law enforcement based training and community service opportunities to prepare them for a career in public safety. Cadets participate in weekly squad meetings, law-enforcement-based community service events, ride alongs, competitions, and a yearly Cadet Academy. Anyone who is interested is encouraged to attend the Flex Time Session on March 26th.

All things E.Q. 3/9-3/13: Why waste your own time by bringing minimal effort? Many students struggle with motivation and procrastination. This week we will share with them 5 reasons to apply themselves in school. 1. You have less stress when you do your best. When we work calmly and carefully we are actually less stressed than when we push our work off to the last minute or rush through our work with minimal attention. Doing your best actually makes the time you spend working, more enjoyable. 2. Build helpful habits now. Aristotle said, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act, but a habit.” Practicing procrastination won’t help you in college, or when you start your career. Create a good future now, by building habits that will help you, rather than hurt you down the road. 3. You don’t want to waste your own time. By doing your best work, you make the most of each assignment you turn in. When you do less than your best, you are wasting your own time and potential. 4. Take every opportunity you have to learn. In school, we are given opportunities to learn, but we must choose to take the opportunity. Making school matter means you take the opportunities you are given. Avoiding work, or procrastinating until the last minute doesn’t build skills for your future, but it does add stress, disappointment, and/or apathy into your life now. 5. Make the most of it! By making the most of your school experience, you are learning to make the most of your life. Don’t wait for better conditions. Life will always have challenges. Live your best life right now.

Don't like your Grade?: Don't, like your grade? AzM2 will upgrade. Wait, Say Whaaat...? Get a Proficient score on your AzM2 you are eligible for a 1 letter upgrade bump up to a B in Freshman and Sophmore Math or ELA courses. Get a Neets the Standards on your AIMS Science Test, you are eligible for a 1 letter grade bump up to a B in Biology. Get a high Profiencent score on an AzM2 you are eligible for a 1 letter grade bump up to an A in Freshman and Sophomore Math or ELA courses. Get an Exceeds in Standards score on the AIMS Science Test, you are eligible for a 1 letter grade bump up to an A in Biology. Arizona Boys Program: ATTENTION JUNIORS! Arizona Boys State Program is hosting a week-long unique summertime educational program for high school juniors that focuses on participation and personal experience in a model state, complete with governmental bodies and elected public officials. Interested students please pick-up and complete a student nomination application from the counseling office. Applications are due by Mar 30th.
