The varsity boys soccer team played a great game Tuesday night against Liberty. After the overtime period, the score was tied 1-1. Goal was scored by Liam Engerholm with great goalkeeping by Brandon Chisholm.

The Mountain Ridge Wrestling team dominated O'Connor on their senior night with an outstanding 52-24 victory!!

In their first speech and debate tournament, with very little experience, two teams impressively made it to the quarter finals this weekend at the Scorpion Spectacular. Our competitors that advanced were Liam Nelson and Jack Gregor in Public Forum along with Evrim Gulser and Kaleb Jewett, debating Big Question.

The freshman girls basketball team beat Chaparral by a score of 47-32 the team was led by Alyssa Fraulino with 20 points and Payton Pasinski had 9 points and led the team in rebounds. Katelyn Faust, Isabella Skinner and Cameron Ortiz gave the team a huge boost defensively to put away the Fire-birds. Great job ladies!

Sophomores interested in being the MRHS ambassador at the HOBY State Leadership Seminar this summer should email Ms. Dyal at sarah.dyal@dvusd.org or stop by the counseling office. The cost is $225. Please notify the counseling office by February 1st. 

All-Region results are in! Mountain Ridge had 43 students selected for the Southwest All-Region Band, Orchestra and Choir and another 11 who were selected as alternates and who made it on multiple instruments. WOW!! Go Ridge!!!

Attention juniors and seniors-if you are interested in testing for the Seal of Biliteracy, the deadline to sign up in C 219 is this TOMORROW, Jan. 31. You must sign up for the test in C 219, then pay $20 in the bookstore this week in order to test on February 10. Please see Mrs. Romero for details.

SPRING SPORTS are around the corner, tryouts begin Monday February 10th. Make sure you are cleared through the athletic office by Friday February 7th. Go to mrhsathletics.com for more information.

Jamba Juice is back and will be here for both lunches every Thursday selling your favorite flavor for only $5.  Get your's before they sell out and make sure to dispose of it before entering the buildings before class.

The 3rd Annual Ridge Run 5k is Saturday February 22 at 8:00am. Go to mrhsathletics.com for more information or stop by the athletic office to pick up a flier. Cost is $20 for all DVUSD students and $25 per adult, come out to this great event and support your Ridge athletics!

Seniors, as you receive scholarship awards from universities or foundations, please inform the counseling office so we can celebrate your success at the Senior Honors and Awards Ceremony. Please bring a copy of the scholarship to the counseling office or email it to sarah.dyal@dvusd.org by Friday, March 13th.
