Community Service Lunch Detention: We will be having Community Service Lunch Detention as an option next semester. Here are the details of how this will be implemented. -If a student is assigned more than one lunch detention they will have a choice to do community service. -When they do the community service, that will remove one day of lunch detention. -The community service will occur about the last 15 minutes of lunch and the student may arrive a couple of minutes late to the next period. -If a student misses lunch detention they will automatically receive Community the next lunch detention. Have a great last seven days of the semester.

All things E.Q. 12/16-12/20: Boredom lies in the mind, not the environment. Students often don’t realize that boredom is a choice. They may believe that boredom happens to them and they feel like they know exactly who or what has made them bored. Blaming other people or events for their boredom only keeps them stuck in boredom. “When you blame others, you give up your power to change.”-Robert Anthony This week we hope to encourage students to take ownership of their day rather than waiting for their day to get better, they can make it better. Waiting for our environment to change will never create an exciting life but making the most of the environment we are in will always create the best possible experience we can have in each moment. Don’t wait for a great day; make it a great day. However, there will be times when we feel truly uninterested, and while it is still possible to work toward replacing boredom with curiosity, it may be easier to replace it with something else - grit. Grittiness is what helps us do what is ours to do, even if we see it as unpleasant, uninteresting or boring. Grit makes us mentally strong and aides in the success of whatever we put our minds and effort towards.
