CONGRATULATIONS to Varsity Football on an excellent season. For the first time in 9 years the guys are heading to playoffs! Ridge will play Perry High School on Friday November 8th @ 7:00pm at Perry High School. The admission for State playoffs is $5 for students and $10 for adults. Get out there and support your team. Great jobs guys, Ridge is proud of you!!!

Did you know that Jay Leno was in DECA?  Now you know…Happy DECA Month!

This year Mountain Ridge High School and Sandra Day O’Connor High School decided to have a friendly competition in their annual food drives.  Mountain Ridge collected items to donate to St. Mary’s Food Bank and O’Connor collected for St. Vincent De Paul.  This year with over 64,000 cans of food, which converts to over 55,000 pounds of food donated, Mountain Ridge claims the title of biggest food drive.  OC ended with 8225 pounds of food. We would like to thank everyone from both schools for helping with their food drives and donating and helping our communities in need. 

We also have the results for the class competition for the food drive tallied.  First place for total amount of bulk food goes to Mr. Evans Math class winning a pizza party and 2nd place for bulk food was Ms. Hurguy’s class who will also win pizza.  The class with the most overall cans total was Mr. Girnius, his class will get a choice of donuts or cookies.  The 2nd place for overall total was Mrs. McElroy’s class.  Congratulations to all those classes!  We would like to thank everyone who donated money and food items, it was a great success; we were able to donate over 55,000 pounds.  Thanks again for helping out the St. Mary’s food bank and those that are less fortunate, Ridge Rocks!!!!!

The MRHS HOSA chapter have placed in 4 state competitions and qualified for national competition! Happy HOSA Week!

Stop by the gym lobby on your way into school to grab an iced or hot coffee for sale on Wednesdays. The grab one after school in the same gym lobby. Featuring the Ridge Roast! It is the best way to get your milk for the day!! Milk---It does a body good!

There is a Best Buddies fund-raiser at Chipotle on TONIGHT, November 5th. All students, staff, families, and friends are invited to stop by Chipotle on 67th Ave and the 101 between 4pm and 8pm. Make sure to show the fund-raiser flyer when making you purchase so it counts towards fund-raising for our Best Buddies club. See you there!

Stop by MOD Pizza at 75th Ave and Bell anytime on Thurs., Nov. 7th. Mention Mountain Ridge Educators Rising and they will earn 20% of the proceeds. Enjoy a custom pizza!

A representative from ASU Barrett the Honors College will be visiting Mountain Ridge on Thursday, Nov 7th during AcaPrep. This is the perfect chance to learn more about ASU's Honors College and get any questions you have answered. Be sure to sign up and get an AcaPrep pass from the Counseling office to attend.
