Blood Drive: Blood Drive! The NHS Blood Drive will be October 24th. All those over 16 may sign up. Anyone under 18 MUST complete a minor consent form that is signed by their Guardians/Parents. All forms are available in room 533 and 404. Any questions can be directed to Ms.Brown or Mrs.Vossburg!


 

Free Night School at BCHS: FREE Night School at BCHS! Students, do you need to make up a credit that you missed and want to take care of it for free.?DVUSD Pathways is offering the following classes from October 28- December 19th after school; English Language Arts 1 or 2 English Language Arts 5 or 6 Earth Science 1 or 2 Government Come to the counseling department to get your registration form today!


 

Steampumkins program at the Library: Steampumkins program Create a steampunk style pumpkin! Just in time for Halloween, decorate a pumpkin in any kind of gear-turning, zipper-toothed, spring-laden way you like. Small prizes awarded for best designs! Plus, pick up some creepy reads before you go. Saturday, October 19th, 2:00-3:30 pm. Registration begins on 10/5.


 

Volunteer Orientation (for the library only): Volunteer Orientation (for the library only) Teens! Want to make a difference? Or simply need volunteer hours? This quick orientation will get you set up for school year volunteering. Wednesday, November 6th, 2:30-3:00 pm. Registration begins on 10/23. (HOWEVER: if they have filled out a volunteer application online or are interested in volunteering, I will accept additional people who haven't signed up. So if you miss registering, don't despair!)


 

Calling all Sophomors: CALLING ALL SOPHOMORES! HOBY (youth leadership organization) is hosting a 3-day leadership seminar for our current sophomores from June 4th - 7th at ASU West Campus. This program provides students with a unique interactive leadership training, life experience on a university campus, and motivation-building experiences. Please pick-up and complete a student nomination application from the counseling office. The applications are due to Ms. Sherrod by Tuesday, November 19th.


 

College Fair: On Sunday, October 20th, at the Phoenix Convention Center, there will be a college fair. E-mail your counselor for more information.


 

PSAT: The PSAT is on Saturday, October 19th. Be sure to arrive on time at 7:20 am.


 

World Language Club: ¡hola, bonjour, nihao. World language club is going to have a day of the dead theme for the next meeting. Please join us at 2:15 on Tuesday, October 22 at room 331. Everyone is welcome.

We may view teamwork as frustrating because we can’t control how other people “show up” when they work in our team. However, we can control how we "show up." You receive from a group exactly what you put into it.


 

Wrestling News: Any students interested in Wrestling, please attend a meeting on Wednesday, October 23rd at 2:20 in the wrestling room.


 

College Visits: We have a lot of colleges visiting our campus. Visit the counseling website for the complete list of colleges coming this semester. October 22nd: Scottsdale Community College and St Edwards University in Austin will be here. Sign up in Counseling Or scan the QR Code in your English or social studies class. October 23rd: Paradise Valley Community College, U of A and Colorado State will be here. Sign up in Counseling or Scan the QR code in your English or Social Studies Class. October 24th: During FLEX TIME: the University of California Irvine and Cornish College of the Arts and the AIR FORCE ROTC will be visiting. The AIR FORCE will discuss career, education, scholarship, and other military benefits/opportunities


 

West-Mec Open House: Students, West-Mec will be hosting an Open House for EMT. This course offers 12.5 college credits and the students/families do not pay college tuition! Also, credits students earn in EMT lead to an Associate Degree in Emergency Response & Operations, as well as to a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Science in Emergency Management at NAU. Great news for students interested in this college and career pathway! See your School Counselor for more information.
