Congratulations to Megan Neese who has been nominated as our January Rotary Student of the month. Megan was nominated by our Fine Arts department.
Congrats to all of our Band and Orchestra students on their performances this Saturday at the AMEA Solo & Ensemble Festival. The following students and ensembles received a Superior Rating and advanced to the 2nd Tier for State Competition: Anthony Ruan, MRHS Saxophone Quartet, Lauren Aoyama, MRHS Clarinet Quartet 1, Sarah Zhao, Aiden Bowers, Madison Young-Cruz, Aaron Lambertus, MRHS Wind Ensemble Woodwind Choir, MRHS Wind Ensemble Brass Choir, Vanessa Woo, MRHS Woodwind Octet.
Seniors who are literate in English as well as another language, come to C-219 TODAY at 2:15 PM for a study session to prepare for the Seal of Biliteracy exam on February 11th. Juniors currently in Spanish AP or French 7-8 are also eligible to test on February 11th. See Mrs. Romero for details.
A representative from Avalon School of Cosmetology will be presenting during AcaPrep this Thursday the 24th. This is a great chance to learn about their Cosmetology program and available financial aid. Get an AcaPrep pass from the Counseling office today to attend!
TSW will have hot chocolate for sale tomorrow morning, Wednesday for $1.00 at 7:00 AM. We will be located on the west end of the C Building facing the gymnasium. Please come out and purchase a cup of delicious hot chocolate and support the TSW Program.
Interact is sponsoring the Crutches for Africa project, please bring in any mobility devices such as crutches, walkers and canes to Ms. Buss’s room E-208.
Attention Juniors, next year everyone can do internship. There will be an in person course that has release time for your job and there is the current CTE Internship that is online. Be sure you sign up for them for next year!
All boys interested in trying out for tennis, there will be an informational meeting in Coach Singleton’s room C-108, on Wednesday, January 23rd right after school.
Girls interested in this year’s tennis team need to attend a meeting on Wednesday, January 23rd at 2:30 in room A-185.
Mountain Ridge Beach Volleyball season is quickly approaching! There will be an informational meeting Wednesday, January 23rd from 2:30-3:30 PM at the beach courts. If you are thinking about trying out and want information about the upcoming season, stop by and talk with the coaches.
Art Alliance will meet this Thursday after school in CC-303 New members are welcome!
Congratulations to the boys basketball team for beating O’Conner last Friday night in front of a packed crowd. The score was back & forth until the end of the 3rd quarter when Ridge went ahead and never fell behind from that point on. The final score was Ridge 51, OC 45. Tonight’s game is at #3 Chaparral high school.
Have you bought your Ridge Got Talent tickets yet? See any Principals Advisory Council member or go to the Bookstore to buy yours today. This talent show of teacher and student acts will amaze you! It is a benefit for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society so come support a Great cause! Tickets are $5.00 presale and $8.00 at the door. Mr. Lang, Mr. Gabow, Officer Calderon and Mr. Shiro will be doing a Beatles tribute! And…the Mama Mia performance and of course, Drumline! Ridge Run 5K is taking place on Saturday, February 2nd at 8:00 AM. Cost is $25.00 for adults and $20.00 for students.
