Here are the results for the 2018 Homecoming Spirit Week and Pep Assembly.  This year the seniors won the mural competition and the dress up day, both sports comps in the assembly and won the spirit scream in the first assembly.  Therefore the seniors are the winners of the spirit stick.  Great job seniors!

Also we would like to congratulate royalty for this year, the freshman attendants, Jason Bowey and Aspen Mathis, sophomore attendants, Adam O’Connor and Lila Wayman, junior attendants, Gavin Allen and Olivia Anderson and senior attendants, Ethan Hudak and Kamryn Ray.  This year’s King and Queen are Preston Miller and Cassidee Orzechowski.  Congratulations to all!

Thanks to everyone for making it a great Homecoming Week!  Food Drive starts in a few week, bring lots of cans and food to your 1st periods!  More info to come soon, including the theme days and prizes for each class.

Educators Rising is looking for donations of new and gently used books for children ages 5 – 12. If you have books to donate, please bring them to your 1^st period teacher.  The 1^st period class with the most books or cash to buy books will win a donut party!

The Varsity Cross Country Team competed in under the lights in Southern California this past Friday. There were over 380 schools from 10 states. The boys finished 16th in their race with three top medal finishers led by Hunter Krasa taking 3rd. The girls ran in the last race of the night with a strong finish - 6 of the 7 girls medaled and the team took home first place in their race. Congratulations Cross Country.

If you are on the free and reduced school lunch program and have not reapplied, you need to do so before September 20^th.

Congratulations to all those 10^th, 11^th and 12^th grade students who have qualified to be members of the Renaissance program.  Teachers have received the list and it should be posted in each classroom, so make sure you check the list.  Cord distribution will be September 27^th during both lunches.

The University of Arizona representative will be on campus during AcaPrep on Thursday, 9/20.  Learn about admissions, scholarships, campus life and more!  Get an AcaPrep pass rom the Counseling office today!

Representatives from the University of Chicago and ASU Barrett Honors College will be on campus tomorrow during AcaPrep.  Whether you want to stay in-state or go out-of-state, take advantage of this opportunity.  Stop by the Counseling office to get an AcaPrep pass to one of these presentations today!

DECA’s scholarship program provides over $300,000.00 in scholarships to high school and college DECA members.  DECA scholarships are strictly merit based.  Go to the deca.org website now to apply in January.  https://www.deca.org/high-school-programs/scholarships/

Calling all burrito lovers!  Foil your dinner plans and stop by the Chipotle at 20004 N. 67^th Avenue, Suite 500 in Glendale for the Best Buddies fundraiser on Tuesday, September 25^th from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM.  We are raising money to support Best Buddies.   Mention the Mountain Ridge fundraiser at checkout and they will donate 33% of the proceeds to the cause.   Can’t wait to see you!

Girls Volleyball will be having a fundraiser at Barro’s Pizza on 67^th Avenue Monday, October 1^st from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.  Come and support your girls volleyball team by mentioning you are there to support Ridge volleyball.  Twenty five percent of the proceeds will be donated to MRHS.  See you there!

Please donate old clothes and towels to Interact to make toys for shelter dogs.  Bring to E208 anytime!

Just a reminder it is against school rules for outside companies to deliver food to our campus for students.  Food deliveries will be refused.
