Homecoming Spirit Week starts next Tuesday!  We have the results of Homecoming Royalty Nominations.  Also, tickets go on sale today for the Homecoming Dance “Blackout Bash”.  Make sure you get your code of conduct forms turned in before you can buy your tickets.  The dance is on Saturday, Sept. 15th at Glendale Civic Center from 7-10:00 PM and tickets are $25 for a single and $40 for a couple.  Tickets are available at the bookstore during lunches so beat the crowd and get yours early!!  Tickets will not be sold at the door.  Keep posted to the announcements as there is a lot planned for this year’s Homecoming!! 

Okay, now it is time to reveal who YOU nominated for your Homecoming Royalty Nominees.  Voting will take place Friday in your Language Arts classes or on Canvas.

For Freshman Attendant:  The boys are Jason Bowey, Gavriilidis Evyeni and Brodey Sanchez and for the girls, Sophia Marchner, Aspen Mathis and Monali Shah.

For Sophomore Attendant:  The boys are Brett Norton, Adam O’Connor and Tanner Olson and for the girls, Aurora Gonzales, Taylor Meyers and Lila Wayman.

For Junior Attendant:  The boys are Gavin Allen, Jacob Nova and Tyler Thomas and the girls, Olvia Anderson, Jordan Kress and Sarah Kruetzberg.

For Senior Attendant, the boys are Dawson Field, Ethan Hudak and Tate Childers and the girls are Megan Curry, Kamryn Ray and Ashley Spartz.  For King: Garrett Bonner, Sai Ganti and Preston Miller.  For Queen:  Paige Grieme, Cassidee Orzechowski and Tiffany Williams.

Congratulations to all our nominees!  Make sure to vote for your favorites on Friday.  Also, don’t forget to dress up next week, we start off with 8:00 AM lecture, PJ day on Tuesday!

Attention 10, 11 and 12th graders!  Congratulations to all those 10, 11 and 12th grade students who have qualified to be members of the Renaissance program.  Teachers have received the list and I t should be posted in each classroom so make sure you check the list.  Cord distribution will be September 27th during both lunches.

Do you enjoy eating delicious food from Raising Canes?  If so, please visit the Arrowhead location on Wednesday, September 5th and tell them you are supporting Educators Rising at MRHS.  Proceeds will go to Ed Rising for conferences and competitions.

If you are interested in becoming a Best Buddies Officer stop by Mrs. Plogman’s room C113 before Tuesday’s AcaPrep, to pick up your form.  Please plan on attending an Officer meeting on Tuesday, October 4th during AcaPrep for your form.  

Best Buddies, join in our first Best Buddies activity game.  Meet in the cafeteria during AcaPrep on Thursday, September 6th.  Dues and applications are due on September 20th.

All student athletes interested in FCA, please join us Thursday in the small gym during AcaPrep. Donuts will be provided. See Coach Schmitt if you need an AcaPrep pass.

Attention students going to the Homecoming dance.  This year, all attendees need to sign a Homecoming Dance Code of Conduct form.  It is on our website for you to download.  If you are bringing a non-Ridge guest, you will also need to download a guest form off of our website.  Guests will also need to turn in a Dance Code of Conduct form.  Forms need to be turned in to the conduct office before students can purchase a ticket. Tickets WILL NOT be sold at the door.  Again, tickets WILL NOT be sold at the door.

All tickets need to be purchased by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14th.  Please wait to buy guest tickets until you have confirmed your guest has been approved.  Approval lists will be updated at lunch daily, and held at the bookstore.  All forms will be turned in to the conduct office.  Remember, you MUST have your student ID in order to get in the door.  Guests need their ID, as well. 

Students who are in possession of anything related to vaping/tobacco at the dance will not be allowed into the dance, and will be suspended off campus the following week.    Seniors who are off-campus suspended will lose the privilege to walk at graduation.  Thank you for following all school and district expectations.

A TuTu for You You…Yes you!!  Get ready for spirit week and color day next week with your Class Color Tutu for only $12 in the student store. Get yours EARLY as stock is limited!!

Did you win a free bottle water last week?  Get a MRHS sticker form the student store for your HydroFlax and you could win.   If we spot it, then you could be the winner of the week!!

Do you go to sporting events?  Yearbook wants your pictures.  Please send pictures of yourself at any type of sporting event to adam.korman@dvusd.org or bring them to room C118.

Attention Mountain Lions!  Do you like learning about culture, food and fun?  Well, for the love of India, please join us!  The Indian Student Association will have its first meeting this Thursday after school in room C219.  We meet from 2:15 – 3:00 PM.  New members of all cultures and backgrounds welcome!

The girls badminton team lost to a tough Mountain View squad. Varsity players include Morgan Pearson, Jenna Dickson, Savannah Swint, Tania Do and Crystal Bellew. The Mr. Poppers team award went to Natt Pitak for her Respect the Ridge attitude.

Students interested in trying out for the boys soccer team this season need to attend a meeting after school on Thursday in CC409.

The Cub store is located in building C.  The hours are 7:15 AM to 7:30 AM and both lunches.  Stop by and pick up your drinks, snacks and more.  Cash, debit and credit cards are accepted.
