WEST WING SCHOOL NEWS!!

Grades:  Kinder – 3rd   4:30pm – 5:15pm   

Grades 4th – 6th     5:15pm – 6:00pm   

Grades 7th – 8th     6:00pm – 6:45pm   

Volunteer Training:    4:00pm and again at 4:30pm in our Science Lab

PTSA:  Please come and visit our PTSA table set up in the cafeteria.  The will be telling you all about what they have planned for the year and volunteer opportunities. They will be taking t-shirt orders and selling West Wing water bottles and PTSA memberships. They will have sample shirts available in order to figure out sizing.  

E & S Orthodontics has generously donated a basket for our membership raffle this year (estimated worth is $1000!). All members who join before our first PTSA meeting on August 29th will be entered for a chance to win.  Sign up the entire family to increase your chances. Sign up at Meet the Teacher Night.  Memberships are also available for purchase on our website at westwingptsa.com.

ICE CREAM TRUCK ON SITE:  E & S Orthodontics is bringing in an ice cream truck to hand out popcicles to the kids tonight!!!    Be sure to stop by and visit!   Thank you E&S Orthodontics for your support and  generosity!

COMING IN FROM OUR WONDERFUL PTSA:  Our awesome PTSA puts on many many wonderful activities such as dances, fund raisers and family fun nights for our school and community.   Please go to:  http://westwing.my-pta.org/   and on the left side of the screen under the “Home tool bar” you will see “Register”.   Please register with their site so you don’t miss any of the fun they plan on for our kids and families.

1- Crossing Guard position:  2.0 hours  / 8:00am – 9:00am and 3:00pm – 4:00pm

Please follow these guides lines for student drop off/pick-up and walkers.

• Walkers:  gates don't open till 8:30am.
• Students buying Breakfast:  Front gate by the MPR is open at 8:15 allowing access.  Breakfast is only $1.25, which is a good option if they don't have time to eat at home.
• Students being dropped off/picked-up
  • ALL Drop off:  Gates open at 8:15am allowing parents to pull in and drop off breakfast students.  All other students are not allowed on campus until 8:30 when supervision starts.  
  •  Kindergarten students ONLY (siblings of kindergartner are OK for the same)  are dropped and picked up at the front curb near the Administration building.  
  • 1^st graders – 8^th graders are dropped and picked up using the driveway at the back of the school near the playgrounds.
  • ALL Pick up:  Gate opens at 3:15pm. There is no parking/waiting anywhere along High Desert Dr. before these gates open.  No longer will parking be permitted at the Community Center.   Consider coming 5 minutes after the bell rings when traffic congestion is lower.  Copper Hills Church has graciously offered their parking lot to any parent who would like to use it for pick up or drop off.  Your child will exit the west bike gate and walk through the WW Park to meet you. 

Please be considerate and follow all directions of the crossing guards.  They are out there trying to keep all our students safe and we want them to be safe as well.

Elementary Lunch - $2.80 (small price increase)

Adults - $3.75 (with or without drink)

We are open for breakfast ($1.50) from 8:15-8:45 a.m
