Boulder Creek High School Bulletin for Wednesday, August 16, 2017

Vending Machines: Welcome back to School. Students as a reminder, vending machines are on timers during education time. You may use the vending machines before school, during lunches and after school. Have a wonderful day.


 

World Language Club: Do you enjoy learning about different languages and cultures? Well, World Language Club is the right club for you! The first meeting of World Language Club will be @ 2:30 pm on Wednesday, August 16 at Room 313. Everyone is welcome!


 

Travel Opportunities: Travel Opportunities: Are you interested in earning college or high school credit while traveling with other students from BC? Come to an informational meeting on Wednesday, August 16th after school in room 145. We will provide information on going to the Dominican Republic this summer 2018 and also info on the 2020 South Pacific tour. *note: these are non-school sponsored opportunities


 

Tri-University Tour: Deer Valley Unified School District is hosting the following events for senior students and their families: Tri-University Tour - Thursday, August 24th, 6-8 p.m. at CCV-Peoria Auditorium, 7007 W. Happy Valley Road. Join representatives from Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and The University of Arizona. Students and families will have the opportunity to connect with the 3 in-state universities, DVUSD counseling staff, and AZ Transfer to learn more about their options in-state. Seniors interested in applying should bring a tablet or laptop.


 

Global Studies Certificate: Global Studies Certificate: Are you interested in learning about other cultures? Are you willing to share your cultural experiences with others? Brave enough to snack on some crickets or try baklava for the first time? Come to our first meeting for more information, after school on Monday, August 21st in room 145! See you there!


 

NHS Members: "Attentions all NHS members! Our first mandatory meeting of the year is on Wednesday, August 23rd in the main auditorium at 2:20. Our meetings generally last until 3:00. Please be prepared to stay for the entire meeting. Attendance will be taken and you will receive numerous volunteer opportunities. Don't forget to pay your dues at the bookstore if you forgot last year and bring us a receipt."


 

Football Kick-Off: KICK-OFF: Hey Jags! Our first home football game is next Friday, August 18 and it's a WHITE OUT! Show that pride! To kick-off the season, StuGo is hosting a free, student-only pre-party on the practice field beforehand. Come hang with us--play cornhole, listen to music, grab a snowcone, and get hyped for our first game! Kick off starts at 6. See you there, Jags!


 

Boys Basketball: Anyone in Grades 9-12 interested in trying out for the 2017-18 Boys Basketball team - There is a meeting in Room 824 this Wednesday. August 16th at 2:15.


 

Freshmen STUGO Elections: FRESHMEN STUGO ELECTIONS: Freshmen students who are interested in Student Government should pick up an election packet outside room 414 or at the front office and turn it in to 414 by next Friday 8/18.


 

FCA Members: Hey FCA Members- We will have our first meeting of the year on Thursday the 17th. That's THIS Thursday. We will meet same time, same place, same pizza - OK - new pizza... If you are new to Boulder Creek, or just new to Fellowship of Christian Athletes, come join us. We meet in Room 612 during BOTH lunches. Everyone is welcome - you do not have to be an athlete or a Christian. Come check it out!


 

Friday Pep Rally, Kick-off party and Football Game: Attention all students, Pep Rally this Friday Get pumped up with our amazing marching band, spiritline, and football team before school in the Echo Circle this Friday at 7am. We are spreading the word and BC spirit for our first home football game. Friday, WHITE OUT all day To show our unity, we are wearing white to school and then continuing on at the home game vs. Hamilton. Game starts at 7pm. Kick-Off Party prior to the game @6pm on the practice field with music, some games of cornhole and catch, snow cones, and give-aways. Entrance is free. See you at the Game. Go Jags!


 

Certificate of Academic Distinction (CAD): Juniors and seniors are you interested in CAD? Certificate of Academic Distinction provides you, the student the opportunity to showcase your academic excellence and dedication. The CAD certificate will supplement your diploma and showcases your research and presentation skills above and beyond graduation requirements. To learn more about CAD, please come to an informational session on Thursday, August 17th from 2:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., or Thursday, August 24th from 7:15 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. in Rm 102F (located in the library).


 

Closed Campus: As a reminder to all students, our campus is a closed campus and you may not leave for any reason unless parent is signing you out, this means lunches as well. Disciplinary action if caught leaving or coming without permission.


 

Kona-Ice: Kona-Ice will be on campus Friday during both lunches. You can not use your student account so bring money!


 

Girls Beach Volleyball: If you are interested in beach girls volleyball, please come to this brief meeting after school in room 514 on Tuesday, August, 22. We will be discussing A LOT about this off season and up coming season! Be there or be square.


 

Ecuador Trip Summer of 2018: We have great news! The Ecuador trip set for summer June 19 2018 with Maestra Trunzo and 9 other students and still has room for more!!! Do you want to white water raft the amazon? Hike under a waterfall in the Andes and snorkel with turtles in the Galapagos Islands? Of course you do!!!! Come for an informational meeting August 23rd @ 6pm in room 304 with Ms. Trunzo! This is also meet the teacher night sooooo why not explore Ecuador first ;-) Hasta pronto fellow travelers!!
