WEST WING SCHOOL NEWS!!

THANK YOU PARENTS AND PTSA!!:  You have made this week SO SPECIAL for all the teachers and staff!  We appreciate your generosity.   It’s been a fun week!!

COMMUNITY SUPERINTENDENT CANDIDATE RECEPTION:   

Meet the candidates for the next Superintendent of Deer Valley Unified School District

Friday, May 5 at 5:15 – 6:45 p.m.
DVUSD Governing Board Room

You will have an opportunity to meet and ask questions of each candidate.
Arrive early to secure seating, as space will be limited.

ART SHOW TONIGHT: Wednesday, May 3^rd in the MPR our Art department is putting on an art show displaying your child’s artwork from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.   You can purchase your child’s framed art for $25!   Portion of this will stay with WW School. 

CHOIR CONCERT:   Thursday, May 4^th @ 6:30pm in our MPR

WW FIELD DAYS:   Be sure to wear athletic shoes and clothes (it will be hot).  Please bring sunscreen, hat and water bottle.   Drinks and snacks will be on sale for $0.50 - $1.00. 

May 4^th  9:00 – 11:00am:  Kinder – 3^rd  grades  

                1:00 - 3:00pm:  4^th – 6^th grades 

May 5^th 9:00 – 11:00am:  7^th & 8^th grades

EARLY RELEASE:  Friday, May 5^th all grades released at 12:05pm

A+ CELEBRATION: Tuesday, May 9^th from 9:30am – 10:00am

Please join us as our honored guest to celebrate the recognition of distinction for 2017 A+ School of Excellence.

DINNER & DESSERT NIGHT:  Tuesday, May 9^th at Chipotle on Lake Pleasant Prkwy from 5:00pm – 8:00pm and right next door at Cold Stone from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.   Please present your flyer (or show it from your smart phone) to ensure your purchase is counted.   A percentage of the proceeds will come back to WW!! 

STEAM EVENT:  The Science PLC is busy planning for our STEAM night on May 10th. We are looking for professionals to come and set up a table that will tell students all about how science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics plays a role in their career each day.  If you are interested in participating please contact Shelly Schubert at Shelly.schubert@dvusd.org.   Thank you.

SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS:  School supply kits are available to order for next school year!   To order your kit go to:  www.shopttkits.com – enter our school code #95735 and then pick your child’s grade level.   The last day to order is June 16^th. 

BAND CONCERT:   Thursday, May 18^th at 6:30pm in our MPR

8^th GRADE DANCE:  Friday, May 19^th at 6:00pm.  More info to follow.

8^TH GRADE PROMOTION:  Tuesday, May 23^rd at 6:30pm at Sandra Day O’Conner High School.    Please remember lunch and library accounts must be clear prior to graduation. 

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!:  Wednesday, May 24^th all students dismissed at 12:05pm
