WEST WING SCHOOL NEWS!!

SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS:  School supply kits are available to order for next school year!   To order your kit go to:  www.shopttkits.com – enter our school code #95735 and then pick your child’s grade level.   The last day to order is June 16^th. 

SAVE THE DATE:  Tuesday, May 9^th from 9:30am – 10:00am

Please join us as our honored guest to celebrate the recognition of distinction for 2017 A+ School of Excellence

TOLERANCE WEEK:  Our Student Council is putting on a “Tolerance Week” next week.   Fun lunch and recess activities are planned as well as a Spirit Week!

Thursday: Family Heritage Day:  Wear colors that represent the country your ancestors are from.

Friday: Patriotic Day:  We are all part of the USA!  Wear Red, White and Blue

SCHOOL DANCE:  5^th, 6^th and 7^th grade dance will be held THIS Friday, April 28th at 5:00 pm. Tickets are on sale now through Friday during your lunch.   Parent’s permission is required and their signature is needed on the ticket.  NO cell phones are allowed in the dance and will be collected at the door.   The cost is $12 and includes: Sub sandwich, chips, dessert, punch, photo booth and Hawaiin Lei.   Dress is casual but you must follow the district dress code. 

HELP WITH BOX TOPS:  Our PTSA is also looking for volunteers to help count box tops on Friday, April 28^th at 9:00am at our Community Center.   Just show up with scissors in hand and be ready to have some fun!

7^th & 8^th GRADE PANORAMIC PICTURES:  Friday, April 28^th Grads Photography will be here to take the panoramic pictures.  Order forms were sent home or you can pick one up at the front office.

ART SHOW:  Wednesday, May 3^rd in the MPR our Art department is putting on an art show displaying your child’s artwork from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.  

CHOIR CONCERT:   Thursday, May 4^th @ 6:30pm in our MPR

WW FIELD DAYS:   Be sure to wear/bring sunscreen, hat and water bottle.   Drinks and snacks will be on sale as well.   More details to come.

May 4^th   AM:  Kinder – 3^rd  grades          PM:  4^th – 6^th grades  (exact times coming soon)

May 5^th half day:  7^th & 8^th grades

EARLY RELEASE:  Friday, May 5^th all grades released at 12:05pm

Meet the candidates for the next Superintendent of Deer Valley Unified School District

You will have an opportunity to meet and ask questions of each candidate.
Arrive early to secure seating, as space will be limited.

BAND CONCERT:   Thursday, May 18^th at 6:30pm in our MPR

STEAM EVENT:  The Science PLC is busy planning for our STEAM night on May 10th. We are looking for professionals to come and set up a table that will tell students all about how science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics plays a role in their career each day.  If you are interested in participating please contact Shelly Schubert at Shelly.schubert@dvusd.org.   Thank you.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!:  Wednesday, May 24^th all students dismissed at 12:05pm
