ACTS: Attention Seniors - ACTS is offering three $1000 scholarships to 2017 Boulder Creek graduating seniors who meet the following criteria: Minimum GPA 3.0, Pell Eligible, Attending technical, community college or four year college/university in fall of 2017. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling office and are due by April 15th.

Sharon Heikkinen Memorial Scholarship: “Attention students who are graduating this year. Applications are now in the BCHS counseling office for the Sharon Heikkinen Memorial Scholarship. Students are eligible to apply if they have a minimum GPA of 2.0, are graduating in May 2017 and will attend college to pursue a career in healthcare. Applications are due back by Monday April 10th. Stop by the counseling office today and pick up a packet. Thanks.”

Flinn Scholarship The Flinn Foundation will be hosting several information sessions for college-bound sophomores and juniors to learn more about the prestigious Flinn Scholarship. There will be sessions on March 21st and April 10th at Arizona Science Center, along with a session at each of the 3 in-state public universities. See your counselor or the flyer in the counseling office for more information.

Summer Program The National Hispanic Bar Foundation is offering Future Latino Leaders Law Camp this summer in Washington, D.C. for Latino students who are interested in the law profession. More information and application at: HNBF.org

SENIOR CORDS ATTENTION SENIORS: Congratulations to the senior students who qualify for our Renaissance Recognition Program! These cords are to be kept and worn at your graduation ceremony. Seniors that earn cords should receive a total of 7 by their senior year if their grades and GPA is as follows. · * Gold Cords: All A’s and Honor B’s · * Silver Cords: All A's and Honor B's and Honor C's with a 4.0+ GPA · * Black Cords: All A's, B's, and Honor C's with a 3.5-3.9 GPA · * White Cords: All A's, B's, and Honor C's with a 3.0-3.4 GPA Please come and see Ms. Braidy to pick up your cords starting February 7th.

Attention Dual Enrollment Students: We will be proctoring the Reading, Math and Write Placer Accuplacer tests here on campus April 24th & 25th. This week, students who have enrolled in a Dual class for next year will receive a letter explaining the registration and testing process. On April 24th and 25th, passes will be sent to students in their Language Arts class to test. In order to test, you must have enrolled as a Rio Salado student, have your 8-digit student ID#, and a valid picture ID. If not, you will not be permitted to test and will have to take the test at the college this summer. Please see Mrs. Tyrrell in the Counseling Department if you have any questions.

Daisy Mountain Veterans Scholarship Attention Seniors. If you are related to a military member there is a scholarship for you. You must have a GPA of 2.5 and been accepted for post-secondary enrollment for the 2017 Fall semester. Scholarship applications are in the counseling office and the due date to apply is April 15th, 2017.

World Language Club World Language Club ¡hola, bonjour, nihao. World language club is going to have Easter theme meeting at 2:20 in room 303 on Wednesday, April 12. Everyone is welcome.

Mr. BC Tickets: MR. BC TICKETS: Tickets will be on sale at lunches this week and next week until they sell out! The Mr. BC Pageant which happens on Thursday, April 13 at 7pm is a great night of laughter and all of the proceeds go to charity. Tickets are only $10 (or $15 for the VIP section) and all money goes to the Halo Animal Shelter. Buy your tickets now before they are gone!

Library News: “Students-- want to learn how to become a millionaire? Come to the library on Tuesday, April 18th from 3:00 – 4:30 PM for #ADULTING. This month’s topic is “Basic Saving & Investing” and will teach you about making effective and informed money management decisions that will benefit you for years to come! Annual Senior Awards Ceremony: Seniors! Save the Date! Our Annual Senior Awards Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 15th at 7 pm in the performing arts center. Please turn in your scholarships/awards notices to the counseling office before April 28th.

Prom Tuxes: PROM TUXES: Gentlemen, have you ordered your Prom tux yet? Get a head start to guarantee the style you want! A representative from Norterra's Men's Wearhouse will be on our campus during lunches on April 17 and 18. For only $20 down, you will get your measurements taken and reserve a tuxedo for Prom. Don't miss out!

GCU Info at the Library: GCU Info at the Library: Grand Canyon University will be hosting an information night to review the Majors, Scholarships, Honors College and Community opportunities available at GCU. High school seniors and juniors are invited to attend along with their parents. Global Studies: Are you interested in traveling and becoming more globally educated? If so, check out the global studies program. This Monday, April 10 after school we are hosting a taste of Greece event. Come connect with students who have the same passion as you and find out about the different travel opportunities offered. District Art Show Winners: Thank you to everyone who made it over to the Shops at NorTerra this past weekend to support our AMAZING Jaguar Artists. The District Show was a huge success with a lot of positive feedback from the community. Like last year our Boulder Creek students were able to show off their talent and hard work, sell work, and take home numerous awards. If you have these students, please congratulate them as they won awards. If you didn't make it over last weekend, the show will be open this Friday night and all day Saturday. We will also be having our Boulder Creek Show at NorTerra this year as well, that will later this April. Special thanks to Matthew Harrington, Jason Bylsma, and Jessica Stuart for challenging their students and helping make this District Show the best yet. Wednesday: 101 Dalmatians Twin Day--Find a friend (or entire class period) and dress alike for our late start! Thursday: Who let the JAGS out? Go BIG on school spirit for our final assembly of the year!

DV Online Learning Program Students ONLY Attendance is required for all students that did not pay for their online class. Attendance is all time spent working, reading and participating in your class. This log verifies to the State of Arizona your attendance in an online course. The attendance log must be submitted each week. The expectation is that you work eight hours per week per course. Thank you for taking online courses with the DV Online Learning Program.
