Boulder Creek High School Bulletin for Friday, March 17, 2017

Blood Drive: Do you know your blood type? Are you positive? Find out for sure by donating at the annual National Honor Society Blood Drive on March 30, 2017 hosted by United Blood Services. NHS would like to invite all students, teachers, parents, and members of the community over the age of 16 to participate in the drive, which will be held in the Boulder Creek Auxiliary Gym from 7:00am to 12:15pm. To sign up, please contact Janay Perone at janay.perone@dvusd.org or Liz Erickson elizabeth.erickson@dvusd.org. One donor can save up to three lives! Last year, participants of the Boulder Creek drive collected an entire day’s supply of blood for a local hospital; this year, we hope to double that by recruiting at least 200 donors. We are grateful for our community’s willingness to reach out and help save lives—you’re the type that this world needs.


 

ACTS: Attention Seniors - ACTS is offering three $1000 scholarships to 2017 Boulder Creek graduating seniors who meet the following criteria: Minimum GPA 3.0, Pell Eligible, Attending technical, community college or four year college/university in fall of 2017. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling office and are due by April 15th.


 

Certificate of Academic Distinction (CAD): “CAD juniors and seniors- your Final CAD poster is due to Rm 506 on Monday, March 27. Your CAD PPT presentation is in the mini-Auditorium on Wed., April 12 at 2:20 pm. Please come to Rm. 506 any Monday or Tuesday after school for help on your CAD project.”


 

Trash during Lunch: Good Morning BC Jags, This is a reminder to please throw away your trash after eating lunch. Remind all of your friends to clean up after themselves too. If you see trash around, don’t pass it up, pick it up! Let’s pitch in, and show Jaguar PRIDE to keep our campus beautiful!

Sharon Heikkinen Memorial Scholarship: “Attention students who are graduating this year. Applications are now in the BCHS counselling office for the Sharon Heikkinen Memorial Scholarship. Students are eligible to apply if they have a minimum GPA of 2.0, are graduating in May 2017 and will attend college to pursue a career in healthcare. Applications are due back by Monday April 10th. Stop by the counseling office today and pick up a packet. Thanks.”

Lunch News: Attention Students: Effective Monday March 27th there will no negative balance allowed on any lunch accounts. Please make sure you are keeping your account current and listening for your low balance reminder from the cashier. Seniors, please be checking your lunch account for any negative balance. Negative balances stay with your account and could be from many years back. Senior accounts must be current for senior checkout. Thanks

Senior Cords ATTENTION SENIORS: Congratulations to the senior students who qualify for our Renaissance Recognition Program! These cords are to be kept and worn at your graduation ceremony. Seniors that earn cords should receive a total of 7 by their senior year if their grades and GPA is as follows. · * Gold Cords: All A’s and Honor B’s · * Silver Cords: All A's and Honor B's and Honor C's with a 4.0+ GPA · * Black Cords: All A's, B's, and Honor C's with a 3.5-3.9 GPA · * White Cords: All A's, B's, and Honor C's with a 3.0-3.4 GPA Please come and see Ms. Braidy to pick up your cords starting February 7th.

Flinn Scholarship The Flinn Foundation will be hosting several information sessions for college-bound sophomores and juniors to learn more about the prestigious Flinn Scholarship. There will be sessions on March 21st and April 10th at Arizona Science Center, along with a session at each of the 3 in-state public universities. See your counselor or the flyer in the counseling office for more information.


 

DV Online Learning Program Students ONLY Attendance is required for all students that did not pay for their online class. Attendance is all time spent working, reading and participating in your class. This log verifies to the State of Arizona your attendance in an online course. The attendance log must be submitted each week. The expectation is that you work eight hours per week per course. Thank you for taking online courses with the DV Online Learning Program.
