WEST WING SCHOOL NEWS!!

IMPORTANT MESSAGES TO PARENTS:

1.  It is being reported that the cars exiting the top parking lot are coming out too fast.  Parents we urge you to please slow down when existing the top parking lot during pick up times.  There are many students crossing at the same point cars are exiting the parking lot.  Please slow down for our student’s safety!

2.  Parents, please remember that the front parking lot is for kindergarten drop-off and pick-up.  Students in Grades 1-8 need to use the back loop by the MPR.  Please do not use the front parking lot for drop-off/pick-up unless you have a kindergartener or student with a special need.  If you arrive after 8:45, you may use the front parking lot so that student's can be marked tardy in the office.

CHOIR AUDITIONS:  Mrs. Bentley is having choir auditions for 3^rd – 6^th graders on Wednesday, September 2^nd and Thursday, September 3^rd after school from 3:30pm – 4:30pm in room 241.   Interested students should be prepared to perform the song Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

MANDATORY PARENT MEETING: for students joining Student Council will be held on Wednesday, September 9^th at 5:30pm.

NO SCHOOL:  Monday, September 7^th for Labor day

Monday, September 14^th for Fall Day Break

EARLY RELEASE:  Friday, September 11^th for staff development

VOLLEYBALL GAMES:  All games start approx. 4:30pm in our MPR room.

COMING IN FROM OUR PTSA:  For our sponsors we have some great news, the Boosterthon t-shirt date has been extended and we still have a few spots open.  We would love to fill all the spots and have prices ranging from $250 - $750.  If you or anyone you know would be interested in supporting this event please have them call Michelle McCaughey at 602-791-2102 or you can respond to this email.  You can click here for the PTSA Website and find the t-shirt layout there.

CAFETERIA  ****There will be a price increase for lunches in the 2015-16 school year.    Breakfast prices remain the same.

Elementary Lunch - $2.60

Adults - $3.50 (includes drink)

We are open for breakfast at 8:15-8:45 a.m.

Please follow these guides lines for student drop off/pick-up and walkers.

• Walkers:  gates don't open till 8:30am.
• Students buying Breakfast:  Front gate by the MPR is open at 8:15 allowing access.  Breakfast is only $1.25, which is a good option if they don't have time to eat at home.
• Students being dropped off/picked-up
  • Drop off:  Gates open at 8:15am allowing parents to pull in and drop off breakfast students.  All other students are not allowed  on campus till 8:30 when supervision starts.
  • Pick up:  Gate opens at 3:15pm. There is no parking/waiting anywhere along High Desert Dr. before these gates open.  Consider coming 5 minutes after the bell rings when traffic congestion is lower.

Please be considerate and follow all directions of the crossing guards.  They are out there trying to keep all our students safe and we want them to be safe as well.
