WEST WING SCHOOL NEWS!!

FALL BOOK FAIR:  West Wing’s Fall Book Fair is underway!!  Please visit our fair while you are on campus visiting your child’s teacher

Hours: Wednesday:  8:30 – 4:00pm

             Thursday:  8:30 – 6:30 pm  Family Night      (Marty the Mustang, Cookies…..)

             Friday:  8:30 – 1:00pm

**We have TWO new ways to get books into the teacher’s classroom library!! 

1.  Teachers have pulled books they would like to have and are located in plastic buckets at the book fair.  Please check their buckets prior to checking out to see if there is something you might be able to donate to their classroom.
2.  We can also accept donations for the teacher.  ANY amount will help.   At the end of the week the teacher will come to the fair to purchase books for the classroom using the donated money!   For every dollar spent Scholastic will donate a book to a homeless child!

Marty the Mustang will be at the book fair on Thursday, October 23^rd   promoting the Arizona Tax Credit.   Give a tax donation and you’ll receive a free t-shirt!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM OUR PTSA:   General PTSA meeting Thursday night, October 23^rd  at 6:30pm in the Band room.  Everyone welcome and you can bring your kids!

BOOSTERTHON pledge money is due!  We have collected 60% of the pledges so far.  We would love to reach our goal of 100%!!

DON'T MISS OUT!

Sign your student up for the Play With Purpose Game Sessions that start today after school. The class goes from 3:35 to 5:00pm.  There are only 5 spots left open for the 3rd - 8th grade (taught by Mrs. Mauldin) and 13 for the k - 2nd grade (taught by Ms. Vandeberg).   Don't miss out on this opportunity for your kids to have fun playing specific games that help improve their cognitive, thinking and reasoning skills.  Students are allowed and encouraged to bring a snack, please no peanut products as there could be students that have peanut allergies in the room.

STUDENT COUNCIL FUND RAISERS:  Student Council is conducting a used clothing drive to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Arizona. We are asking parents to please bring at least one large bag of donations to West Wing School at the PTSA Family Food Truck Night! November 6 from 5:00-7:30. See you there!

KINDERGARTEN SNEAK PEAK:  November 6^th at 5:00pm   West Wing will begin the registration process for the 2015-16 school year.   This event will be combined with the PTSA “food truck” night and several other school events.  Bring your family, friends and neighbors!  Marty the Mustang will be making an appearance!

TAX CREDIT:  Dear WW Parents and Guardians,

This short message is to inform you of an easy way for you to help West Wing School today. I am writing you this very important message about the importance of sending your Tax Credit donation to West Wing School. This gift from you contributes invaluable benefits to the West Wing students. Tax credit dollars go directly to extracurricular programs such as tutoring, special band and music programs that we would not be able to afford otherwise, and many more invaluable opportunities for your child.

If you donate your tax dollars to West Wing, it is at no cost to you.   The tax credit reduces your tax burden to the state of Arizona dollar for dollar as well as reduces your taxable income to the federal government, usually by 1/3 of your donation so it is a win win situation for you and for West Wing School.  Please take a moment and decide to donate your tax dollars to West Wing this year.

Here’s HOW you can donate tax credit dollars to West Wing School.   Remember it is $200 for filing single or up to $400 for filing joint.

1.  Pick up a TAX CREDIT FORM from our front office and drop the payment directly to us.
2. Go to http://dvusd.schoolwires.net/cms/lib07/AZ01901092/Centricity/Shared/pdfs/Tax_Donation_FLyer.pdf to print off a TAX CREDIT FORM and drop it at the front office
3. Go to dvusd.mytechsupport.com and electronically donate to West Wing School
