It’s that time of year again!

Each year Deer Valley Head Start, with your help, assists families in need during the holiday season.

What is Head Start?
Head Start is a federally funded program that provides preschool services to 3 and 4 year old children and their families who meet the Federal Health and Human Services Poverty Guidelines. Deer Valley Head Start only serves students who reside within the DVUSD boundaries.

How does it work?
Because the needs of our families are as diverse as the families themselves, we are asking for donations of gift cards in $25 increments (if possible) preferably to Walmart so that they are able to get a variety of items for their families. If you prefer to donate cash, we are happy to go purchase gift cards. We ask that these donations be sent or brought to the Deer Valley Head Start Office by 12/2/11 so that we have time to distribute them and the families have time to shop for the kids and/or their holiday meals.

If you would like to contribute items for holiday assistance, please contact April Hoffman in the Early Childhood/Head Start office at 623-445-4991.
