Four BGHS Students Recognized in National Merit Scholarship Program

Barry Goldwater HS Commended Students Recognized in the National Merit Scholarship Program
Four students from Barry Goldwater High School (BGHS) in the Deer Valley Unified School District have been named as Commended Students in the 2011 National Merit Scholarship Program. A letter of commendation from BGHS and National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program, will be presented by principal Dr. Mike Andersen to seniors Ashlie Flood, Taylor Killion, Anuvind Menon, and Andrew Vo.
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2011 competition for National Merit Scholarships, Commended Students placed among the top 5% of more than 1.5 million students who entered in the 2011 competition by take the 2009 preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
