Honeywell Hometown Solutions Donates
$8,000 to DVUSD Science Rocks! Summer Day Camp
Honeywell Hometown Solutions has donated $8,000 to the Deer Valley Unified School District (DVUSD) Community Education Department. This funding will provide camper scholarships, guest speakers, and robotics and science tools at Science Rocks! Summer Day Camp.
For the past four years, Honeywell Hometown Solutions has made it possible to provide students in grades 5-9 with interactive week long specialty programs in Environmental Science, Robotics, Medical Science, and Aerospace Science. Science Rocks!, a five-day camp targeted to a specific grade level, is filled with hands-on experiments, discovery, and field trip opportunities that engage, enhance, and reinforce student learning.
Science Rocks! Summer Day Camp fits with the mission of Honeywell Hometown Solutions, the corporations community outreach program dedicated to improving education in math and science. This mission correlates to DVUSD's mission of ensuring that all students will graduate with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for success in a globally interdependent world.
