WEST WING SCHOOL NEWS!!

DADDY / DAUGHTER DANCE:  Our PTSA is sponsoring the 2018 Daddy / Daughter Dance: A Knight for a Princess on Friday, February 9^th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm in our MPR.  The evening includes dinner by Twisted Italian, drinks, dessert, photo, dancing and door prizes.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP AT THE DANCE!!   Please sign up on the PTSA website.

SPRING BOOK FAIR!:    Monday, February 26^th – Friday, March 2^nd   In addition to helping our library earn funds you can help our teachers build their classroom libraries.  During the fair simply purchase a “gift certificate” for your teacher OR purchase a book of your choice you feel their classroom could use.  Either way a label will be placed in the donated book showing your child’s name for all to see!   We need an adult to work one evening shift alongside a student.    Sign up here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0e4eabaf29a0fc1-2018   Thank you!!

THURSDAY, MARCH 1^ST:  HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR. SEUSS!!!

BIG EVENTS AROUND CAMPUS YOU WON’T WANT TO MISS!!!

LITERACY NIGHT:   Thursday, March 1^st from 5:00pm – 6:30pm in our MPR.   Beginning February 1^st WW is having a school wide reading challenge for ALL grade levels!   Students are competing against each other in their grade level for the MOST TIME SPENT READING. 

Teachers have reading logs students need to fill out daily, have signed off by teachers every week and turned in on Friday, February 23^rd.   The top reader in each grade level will win a $25 Amazon gift card!  All participants will be entered to win a KINDLE FIRE in a raffle being held on Thursday, March 1^st at 6:00pm in our MPR.   You MUST be present to win!

 In addition to the individual reading logs for Camp Read A Lot....... We will also have a S'Mores party for the class with the MOST students participating! (we will average the percent since class sizes vary)

SHOWCASE FOR LEARNING:  On Thursday, March 1st from 5:00 pm-6:30 pm West Wing School will be hosting a Showcase for Learning Night.

This is an annual event to invite not only all parents and students who currently attend West Wing School, but also any parents of students, who are interested in attending West Wing School for the 18-19 school year.  This night will showcase the types of exciting rigorous academic learning that is going on at WW.

West Wing School has been an award winning school since 2006 and the entire community has an opportunity to see firsthand, the outstanding academic programs we provide. You will have an opportunity to meet the West Wing teachers, view the grade level materials and see activities that are currently being implemented at our school.

We look forward to seeing all of you on Thursday, March 1st for the Showcase for Learning Night.   For further information about the Showcase for Learning Night, please call West Wing School at 623-376-5000.

BOOK FAIR IS OPEN LATE:   The book fair will be open until 6:30pm in our library.

FOOD TRUCKS will be on site during these big events so skip cooking, come hungry and see all the fun and learning going on around campus this evening! 

BAND AND CHOIR:  Our awesome band and choir students will be performing in or near our MPR!

P.E.:   Our wonderful P.E. department will be set up near the MPR showcasing their new activity "Spikeball" which they purchased with funds they raised during last year’s field day!  Thank you students and parents!! 

BASEBALL TEAM:  Will be playing a home game against Anthem starting at 4:30pm
