WEST WING SCHOOL NEWS!!

SPIRITLINE COMPETITION:  Competition time is finally upon us!!! We are so excited to show off all the hard work the girls have been putting in over these past few months. Below is the information for the District Spirit Championships on January 20, 2018, THIS SATURDAY! We encourage you to bring your school spirit and enthusiasm, to pump-up and cheer on the girls as they compete. I know it would mean a lot to the girls to see familiar faces at the competition.

Boulder Creek High School

40404 N Gavilan Peak Pkwy

Anthem, AZ 85086

· Times: 8:00-12:00

o Doors Open @ 8:00am

o Competition Starts @ 9:00am

o WEST WING IS SCHEDULED TO PERFORM @ 10:05am

o We suggest you get there early, because seats tend to fill up fast.

o Awards will begin @ 11:30 and completed by 12:00

· Cost: $5 for Adults, $3 for students entrance fee at the front door. (MUST BE CASH)

o Children 3 and younger are free

(I have pre-sale tickets I can sell you in advance- so you don't have to wait in line once you get to the competition)

(If you have your district badge you should be able to get in for free!)

      Parking is Free

      Food Trucks will be at the competition too- so come with an appetite! :)

7^TH & 8^TH GRADE DANCE:  Student Counsel is sponsoring a dance this Friday, January 19^th from 5:30 – 7:00pm for our 7^th and 8^th graders.  The cost is $10 and tickets are being sold before & after school, during lunch and during 5^th hour.  

GIRL’S SOFTBALL CAMP:  All 6^th, 7^th and 8^th grade girls are invited to participate in the Softball camp starting next week, Monday, January 22^nd – Friday, January 26^th from 3:45pm – 5:30pm.   The cost is $50 per student.   Pick up athletic forms from the front office.   All proceeds will go to buying new softball uniforms.   Questions?   Contact Josh Willis at Joshua.willis@dvusd.org

BOY’S BASEBALL CAMP:  All 6^th, 7^th and 8^th grade boys interested in participating in our baseball camp should attend the informational meeting on Tuesday, January 23^rd at 3:45pm in the MPR.   Forms and information will be handed out at this meeting.    The camp runs Monday, January 29^th through Thursday, February 1^st.

BASEBALL TRYOUTS:  Begin February 5^th.   Athletic packets must be filled out and physicals must be completed prior to the first day of tryouts.   Packets can be picked up from the front office or printed from our website. 

KINDERGARTEN SNEAK PEEK:  Kindergarten Registration

Thursday, February 1st, 2018, our school will be hosting a Kindergarten Sneak Peek Night from 5:30 p.m- 7:00 p.m. at West Wing School. Parents may register their child for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. Students need to be 5 years old by August 31, 2018. Classrooms will be open to parents to tour and speak with the Kindergarten teachers. The first 25 people who register their future 2018-2019 Kindergarten student at West Wing will receive a FREE book autographed by the principal, Dr. Price-Barry.

We are happy to offer a free full-day kindergarten program at our school. Please join us for this exciting evening to have fun and explore our incredible program. To register a child, parents will need to bring the child's original birth certificate, a current utility bill and immunization records in order to register.

If you know of any neighbors that may have a kindergarten aged child, please share the Kinder Sneak Peek information with them. Please feel free to contact the office if you should have any questions at 623-376-5000.

COMING IN FROM OUR PTSA:

DINE FOR DOLLARS!:  Please join us for an evening out at the new Wendy’s on Tuesday, January 30^th from 5:00 pm – 8:00pm.   Present the flyer and 20% of the proceeds will come back to WW School!    Location:  25774 N. Lake Pleasant Parkway. 

DADDY / DAUGHTER DANCE:  Our PTSA is sponsoring the 2018 Daddy / Daughter Dance: A Knight for a Princess on Friday, February 9^th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm in our MPR.  Tickets are on sale now and can only be purchased online at www.westwingptsa.com through February 5^th.  No late orders will be accepted.   Please do not send in payment to your child’s teacher.   The evening includes dinner by Twisted Italian, drinks, dessert, photo, dancing and door prizes.   This event is for West Wing students kindergarten – 8^th grade.   Escorts can be dad, grandpa, uncle or someone very special.
