WEST WING SCHOOL NEWS!!

DONATION NEEDED: WW is in need of a nice sturdy conference table.   Not a super large table, an old dining room table would do.   If you have one you are no longer using and would like to donate it to our school please contact 623-376-5000.   Thank you very much!

BOOSTERTHON FUND RAISER:    And we’re off!!!!   Our Boosterthon is underway.   Please encourage your child to obtain sponsors for their fun run on October 13^th.   Our goal is to reach $25,000 to help pay for some much needed technology for our students.   Families are invited to cheer on our kids during the fun run!  

FALL BOOK FAIR:   Monday, October 16^th – Friday, October 20^th.  

Helping teachers build their classroom libraries:  During the book fair you can help your child’s teacher keep her classroom library up to date!   Two ways:  Pick up one of our “gift certificates” and donate any dollar amount to your teacher OR simply choose a book your child would like to see in the classroom.  Either way we will give you a sticker showing who donated that book!

SPIRIT LINE TRYOUTS AND CLINIC FOR 7TH & 8TH GRADERS:  

Tryouts:  October 10th – 12th in the MPR from 3:30pm – 5:30pm.   You must have your athletic paperwork in place before tryouts.  This includes the physical and doctor’s form.   You can obtain this paperwork either from the front office or from our website under Athletics

WEST WING IS HIRING!!:   There are TWO positions open at our school. 

Full time para-professional: 8:30am – 3:45pm.  You can view the job description on the DVUSD job postings.  Contact Heather.Marzano@dvusd.org if interested.

Part time cafeteria help: 2.5 hours in cafeteria serving students, cleaning and washing dishes. contact  LuAnne.kelley@dvusd.org if interested. 

VOLLEYBALL:  Games start approx. 4:30pm

COMING IN FROM OUR PTSA: 

Become a PTSA member!   The annual membership is only $5!  Anyone can be a member: parents, grandparents, guardians, friends and STUDENTS!  Simply drop your payment off at the front office or you can pay online at www.westwingptsa.com.   Please keep in mind our PTSA is always in need of volunteers for the many events they put on for our students and staff.   Visit their website anytime for details.

COMING IN FROM OUR CAFETERIA 

National School Lunch Week:  October 9^th – 13^th our cafeterias will be hosting a Student Artwork Contest.   The theme is:   Recipes for Success!   The artwork should reflect how school lunch helps you succeed.  Six winning submissions will be featured on monthly DVUSD menus!   Submissions are due to cafeteria managers by: October 13^th.  

Elementary Lunch - $2.60

Adults - $3.50 (includes drink)

We are open for breakfast at 8:15-8:45 a.m.

SEPTEMBER: Extra lunch choices are: Cheese quesadillas or GoBonzo cobb salad
