WEST WING SCHOOL NEWS!!

SEPTEMBER 29^TH:  BINGO NIGHT 6:00 – 8:00PM IN OUR MPR – Looking for donations for GIVING CHANCES FOUNDATION!  Dinner will be available for purchase.   Please see the PTSA website for more details.   Please watch the announcements dated September 19^th for a video from Chance explaining his foundation in more detail.  

BOOSTERTHON FUND RAISER:

Parents!

This year’s main fundraiser is the Boosterthon Fun Run! It’s a 9-day program that kicks off with a Pep Rally on Tuesday, October 3rd . Families will then gather pledges for every lap your student runs (30-35 laps), and we’ll celebrate at the Fun Run on Friday, October 13th .

With our big goal of raising $25,000 for new and improved technology for West Wing students, we asked the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon to power our Fun Run and make it more profitable, easier, and fun.

Students will also experience an amazing character theme, CASTLE QUEST! an English castle theme all about being brave and living with character. On their quest to regain Bravemore Castle, students will learn the “SIX VIRTUES of a TRUE HERO” from a cast of colorful characters.

Donations will go toward new and improved technology for West Wing students and to the entire 9-day experience. So please help our school by reaching out to sponsors. Also, all families are invited to come out and cheer on your student at the Fun Run! Thank you for your support!

SPIRIT LINE TRYOUTS AND CLINIC FOR 7TH & 8TH GRADERS:  

Clinic:  Learn what it takes to be a WW Spiritline member:  Learn jumps, cheers and a dance.   October 2nd – 5th  3:30pm – 5:00pm in the MPR.   Cost is $20.   See Ms. Sercl or the WW website under Athletics for more information. 

Tryouts:  October 10th – 12th in the MPR from 3:30pm – 5:30pm.   You must have your athletic paperwork in place before tryouts.  This includes the physical and doctor’s form.   You can obtain this paperwork either from the front office or from our website under Athletics

VOLLEYBALL:  Games start approx. 4:30pm and boys play first

Become a PTSA member!   The annual membership is only $5!  Anyone can be a member: parents, grandparents, guardians, friends and STUDENTS!  Simply drop your payment off at the front office or you can pay online at www.westwingptsa.com.   Please keep in mind our PTSA is always in need of volunteers for the many events they put on for our students and staff.   Visit their website anytime for details.

COMING IN FROM OUR CAFETERIA 

National School Lunch Week:  October 9^th – 13^th our cafeterias will be hosting a Student Artwork Contest.   The theme is:   Recipes for Success!   The artwork should reflect how school lunch helps you succeed.  Six winning submissions will be featured on monthly DVUSD menus!   Submissions are due to cafeteria managers by: October 13^th.  

Elementary Lunch - $2.60

Adults - $3.50 (includes drink)

We are open for breakfast at 8:15-8:45 a.m.
