TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK: Our PTSA is asking for your help in making T.A.W. a success. They are looking for donations of socks, drinks, granola bars/protein bars and nuts. Please drop the items to the front office or contact Michelle McCaughey at tdrmccaughey@gmail.com to arrange a pickup by this Friday, April 21^st. Thank you!!

TOLERANCE WEEK: Our Student Council is putting on a “Tolerance Week” next week. Fun lunch and recess activities are planned as well as a Spirit Week!

Monday: Everybody Counts: Wear a shirt with a number on it

Tuesday: We ALL Rock: Wear a music or band shirt

Wednesday: Mismatch Day: Wear mismatched clothes

Thursday: Family Heritage Day: Wear colors that represent the country your ancestors are from.

Friday: Patriotic Day: We are all part of the USA! Wear Red, White and Blue

AZ MERIT TESTING CONTINUES: through THIS Friday, April 21st. Please refrain from scheduling doctor / dentist appointments or vacations during your child’s testing times.

8^TH GRADERS: SDOHS is hosting a Future Freshman Kickball tournament on May 5^th. If you are interested grab some friends and put a team together!! The cost is $10 per person which include a t-shirt, pizza, water and a kickball! Packets are available in our front office. Registrations are due Friday, April 21^st. All players must fill out the required paperwork and a current physical form must be included or on file.

SCHOOL DANCE DATE CHANGE: 5^th, 6^th and 7^th grade dance will be held on Friday, April 28th at 5:00 pm. More details to follow.

BOX TOP COLLECTION: The last box top collection for the school year is Tuesday, April 25^th.

HELP WITH BOX TOPS: Our PTSA is also looking for volunteers to help count box tops on Friday, April 28^th at 9:00am at our Community Center. Just show up with scissors in hand and be ready to have some fun!

7^th & 8^th GRADE PANORAMIC PICTURES: Friday, April 28^th Grads Photography will be here to take the panoramic pictures. Details on how to order will follow shortly.

SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS: School supply kits are available to order for next school year! To order your kit go to: www.shopttkits.com – enter our school code #95735 and then pick your child’s grade level. The last day to order is June 16^th.

WW FIELD DAYS: Be sure to wear/bring sunscreen, hat and water bottle. Drinks and snacks will be on sale as well. More details to come.

May 4^th all day: Kinder – 6^th grade

May 5^th half day: 7^th & 8^th grades

TWO JOB OPENINGS IN OUR CAFETERIA! 2.5 hours 11:00am – 1:30pm serving position. Serving students, dishes and clean up AND Cafeteria cashier/kitchen helper 3 hours, 10:30-1:30. Contact LuAnne Kelley at 623-376-5014 or Luanne.kelley@dvusd.org.

STEAM EVENT: The Science PLC is busy planning for our STEAM night on May 10th. We are looking for professionals to come and set up a table that will tell students all about how science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics plays a role in their career each day.
