WEST WING SCHOOL NEWS!!

PTSA DINNER NIGHT:   THIS Wednesday, January 25^th at SmashBurger on Lake Pleasant Parkway from  10:00 am and 10:00 pm!!   Show them your flyer (or make sure they know you’re with WW School)  and they will give $1 of every sale back to WW School!    

ATTENTION ARTISTS & THE SUPER CRAFTY:   Do you have some extra time?  Is your creativity busting at the seams?  Want your work to be noticed and truly admired?   We are looking for someone to paint our picnic tables!   If you are interested please contact Dr. Price-Barry at linda.price-barry@dvusd.org. 

BASEBALL CAMP:  For 6^th, 7^th and 8^th grade boys!  A meeting will be held Tuesday, January 24th at 3:45pm in our MPR.   Physical forms and camp paperwork is available in our front office.   Please have your child bring the paperwork with them to the meeting.   Remember physicals are good for all sports within a school year.  The camp will begin on Tuesday, January 31^st.   

SOFTBALL CAMP:  For 6^th, 7^th and 8^th grade girls!  A meeting will be held on Monday, January 30^th at 3:45pm in the MPR.   Coach Willis will be discussing camp information, physical forms and tryouts.   Camp forms are available in the front office.  Physical forms and permission slips need to be completed and turned in to Coach or the front office prior to tryouts.  Camp begins February 6^th. 

KINDNESS WEEK:  January 23^rd through January 27^th.   Students will have activities around campus and in their classrooms to complete in order to be entered into a school wide drawing on Friday, January 27^th.  Students have been given the handouts showing the activities.

Wednesday:  Twin Day – “Twice as Kind”

Thursday:  Hippie Day – “Peace, Love and Kindness”

Friday: Superhero Day – “POWERed by Kindness”

EARLY RELEASE:   All grades release at 12:05 pm

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES:  The week of February 13^th – 17^th.    Watch for information to sign up to meet with your child’s teacher(s). 

VOLUNTEER TRAINING:  If you are interested in helping on campus or attending a school field trip you must complete a volunteer training course.   This only has to be done one time and you are clear to volunteer on campus or in classrooms.   Our next class is Wednesday, February 15^th at 4:00pm and again at 4:30pm.  

DADDY/DAUGHTER DANCE:  Friday, February 24^th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.   More information to come. 

SPRING BOOK FAIR:  OUR ANNUAL BOOK FAIR:  During our book fairs you can help out the students and teachers by helping them improve and update their classroom libraries.   You can either put money (any amount) on a gift certificate and the teacher will choose books at the end of the fair OR simply have your child purchase a book of their choice they would like to see in their classroom

Thursday:                          8:30am – 6:30pm      **Literacy Night and Showcase for Learning night also!

Friday:                                8:30am – 1:00pm

LITERACY NIGHT:  Thursday, March 2^nd from 5:00pm – 6:30pm in our MPR.   There will be games, crafts, drawings and a book swap!   Bring your whole family – this is going to be FUN!

SHOWCASE FOR LEARNING NIGHT:     Thursday, March 2^nd  from 5:00pm – 6:30pm.   This is a school wide event where the community will have an opportunity to see firsthand the wonderfully effective academics that we provide at West Wing School.   Invite your neighbors and friends and come see why West Wing is an “A-Excelling” school! 

KINDERGARTEN SNEEK PEEK:  Thursday, March 2^nd from 5:00pm – 6:30pm in our Kinder classrooms.  Meet the teachers, see what they have planned for your child.   You can register your kindergartner during this event also if you’d like.    Please bring:

-Original birth certificate

-Proof of immunizations

-Proof of residency  (APS, Gas or Water bill, Rental agreement or purchase documents)

-Driver’s License

-legal document(s)  (If there’s a special situation)
