WEST WING SCHOOL NEWS!!

BOOSTERTHON FUND RAISER!:  Our main goal for this year is to raise funds for STEM Materials.

Students will also experience an amazing character theme. Backyard Box Office! It is a movie theme all about making a difference by getting into character. Our students will have the opportunity to learn from five REAL kid difference-makers. From inventors to world class speakers, from business owners to world-record holders, these five kids will inspire our students to practice the five "Character Acts" and make a difference in our community.

Families are invited to come out and cheer your student at the Fun Run! Thank you for your support!

    OR

  2. During classroom preview your child’s teacher will pull books from the fair and put them in their bucket. You can simply pull the book from the bucket and purchase it!!Just let the cashiers know it for a teacher so they can give you a “donated by” sticker to put inside! It’s extra special if your child is the one to give the book to his/her teacher.

SPECIFIC BOOK DONATIONS NEEDED:    The kindergarten through 8th grade teachers are currently learning a new writing curriculum called Lucy Calkins. This curriculum includes using several books to help students improve their writing skills. These books are used as examples to demonstrate a teaching point.  We are asking for your donation to help purchase these books, which will be kept in a special "teacher's only" section of our library and used during writing instruction by ALL teachers in the school.  Please consider purchasing some of the titles shown.  You can find low priced copies on AMAZON!  Your family's name will be on the donation sticker inside the book(s)!   Attached is the Google Doc link to view what is needed.   While in the Google Doc you have the capability to modify the information as you fill the need to ensure the list is kept current.  Please contact shari.mills-zumstein@dvusd.org if you need help or have questions about the list or how to work in Google Docs.    Google Doc Book List:   https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qh74piaXLp2Qn66S8GFGaaZUzDyR5F1I6m3wA21I-2w/edit?usp=sharing
