WEST WING SCHOOL NEWS!!

 

SUPPORT OUR POLICE:   Communities around our country are showing their support for police officers by tying blue ribbons to their trees and/or changing their outside house lights to shine blue.    West Wing School will be dedicating the week of January 26th to this purpose.  Kids will be tying ribbons to our trees and putting blue ribbons on our fence.  Let’s show our police officers they matter to us by doing the same at our homes.  Your kids will also be making Thank You cards for our officers.   PARENTS:  Please stop in the front office and sign the giant card WW will be giving the Police Department from its staff and community. 

 

BASKETBALL:    Boys will play first through December 16th

FRIDAY, JANUARY 23RD:  PTSA General Meeting - 9:00am at the West Wing Community Center, everyone is welcome.

 

KINDNESS WEEK:  JANUARY 26th – 30th

Monday:  Krazy for Kindness:  Color your hair BLUE and wear BLUE clothing

Tuesday:  Rock N Roll:  Wear your favorite band shirts

Wednesday: Nothing Beats Kindness: Team sports wear

Thursday:  Ride the Kindness Wave- Beach & Surf wear

Friday:  Dreaming of a Kind World:  PJ’s

 

 

**DATE & TIME CHANGE FOR SHOWCASE FOR LEARNING NIGHT:     This is an evening the community will have an opportunity to see firsthand the wonderfully effective academics that we provide at West Wing School.   Invite your neighbors and friends and come see why West Wing is an “A-Excelling” school!

Kindergarten – 8th grade is Thursday, January 22ND   from 5:00 – 6:00pm

We will have KINDERGARTEN SNEEK PEEK during this time as well so bring your neighbors or anyone you know who has a child starting kindergarten to see what West Wing has planned for our kids!!  They can register their child while they are here!

 

GREAT SKATE EVENT:   Our PTSA is putting on a Great Skate Event for Tuesday, February 3rd  from 6:00 – 8:30pm (no school on February 4th).  The cost is $6.00 which includes admission and skate rental.

 

NO SCHOOL:  Wednesday, February 4th for all day staff development.

 

SAVE THE DATES: 

Friday, February 13th:   7TH & 8TH Grade Valentine’s Day Dance at 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Friday, February 27th:  Daddy / Daughter Dance

 

COSTCO EVENT:  Saturday, February 21st the COSTCO on 19001 N. 27th Ave. will be hosting a school event from 8:00am – 11:00am where West Wing can earn FREE reams of paper!!!  Refreshments and entertainment will be on site.   For every $55 you spend COSTCO will donate 1 ream of paper to the school of your choice.  Simply take your receipt outside to a  designated table and let them know which school you would like the paper to go to.    Don’t have a COSTCO membership?  NO PROBLEM!  Special membership sign up will be available at the membership counter AND the purchase of a membership goes towards the earned copy paper!

Make giving your kids a healthy breakfast every day one of your New Year’s resolutions.

 

If you’re short on time in the morning or your kids aren’t hungry when they wake up, send them to school for breakfast. Healthy food choices are available every morning in the cafeteria for ALL students.  We cannot wait to see them there!

 

Help your kids to make this semester a success - encourage them to eat breakfast!
