Congratulations to our very own Pride of the West Marching Band, their students, staff and parents for a historic evening on Saturday night! This year's marching band program entitled “Out of the Blue” proved to be the perfect show to deliver the school's first ABODA State Marching Band Championship! The Pride of the West also earned special caption awards for the Most Outstanding Visual, Auxiliary, General Effect, and Musical Performance and the highest score, a 96.941, in the history of the State Marching Championships!! This comes just one week after taking 1st place at the Arizona Marching Band Assoc. Championships last weekend at Perry High School in Gilbert. It was a clean sweep for them this year, and the first time Mountain Ridge has taken State in school history! It was stunning to hear the announcement in the stadium of.. “And in 1st Place with a score of 96.941, 96.941 please welcome your Division 1 Champions in Arizona, from Glendale, Arizona the Mountain Ridge High School Pride of the West!!!”
Best Buddies club members, if you are planning to attend the Best Buddies Prom on Saturday, November 23rd, please make sure to sign up for the event online. If you need assistance signing up, please see Mrs. Plogman in room C113.
Save the date: Ridge Got Talent is Wednesday, January 29th at 7:00pm. This is a talent show where the teachers perform to earn votes. Proceeds to benefit a charity. If you know a teacher with a talent to share, please let the Principal Advisory Council members know or let Mr. Moore know.
Check out the amazing world of Color Guard at our Spin Clinics! Combining athleticism, agility, music, and dance; this performance art team uses flags, sabers, and rifles to deliver awe-inspiring shows. Ridge Color Guard will be holding Spin Clinics for its upcoming Winter Season Tuesday, November 19 and Thursday, November 21 from 5 pm to 8 pm. Welcoming students in grades 7th – 12th. Seniors--You can sign up for the Senior Internship next year and if you are in CTE--You can have two internship classes. If you work or volunteer, those hours could count for a grade and help you find your career pathway. See Ms. Moore for the details.
Student Government is selling Harkins Cup Cards for $7, see any stugo member to get yours or see Mr. Evans in E218. These will go fast so get them early.
