Congratulations to Baneen Alsilawi and Robert Addams for being selected as Citizens of the Month for February.
The 2nd Annual MRHS Jazz band swing dance/dinner is on Friday, April 5th. Tickets are $20.00 and are being sold through the MRHS bookstore. Carrabba’s Italian Grill is catering the event!
Attention teachers, staff and students, Mountain Ridge is hosting a fundraiser night for Make-A-Wish at Barros Pizza, 20241 N. 67th Avenue, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM on Thursday, March 28th. Make sure to stop by and mention Mountain Ridge to support the fundraiser!
The MRHS Mentor Program is now accepting new applications for the 2019-2020 school year. If you are a dedicate4d Mountain Lion and would like to help out freshmen transition to high school next year, please apply! Application packets are available in room C-219 or online at Mrs. Romero’s website.
Seniors, as you receive scholarship awards from universities and private donors, please inform the counseling office so we can celebrate your success at the Senior Honors and Awards Ceremony. Please bring a copy of the scholarship to the counseling office or email it to sarah.dyal@dvusd.org by Monday, March 25th.
Attention all students! Do you have a good promposal idea? This year you have a chance at winning free tickets to this year’s prom! Friday, March 15 – April 1st we will be hosting a competition on who has the best promposal! Send your proposal to the stugo twitter account or Mr. Evans email. The winner gets 2 free tickets to prom! The winner will be announced on April 2nd. Good Luck!
Attention students going to the PROM. This year, all attendees need to sign a Prom Dance Code of Conduct form. It is on our website for you to download. If you are bringing a non-Ridge guest, you will also need to download a guest form our website. Guests will also need to turn in a Dance Code of Conduct form. Forms need to be turned in to the conduct office before students can purchase a ticket.
Tickets WILL NOT be sold at the door. All tickets need to be purchased before 3:00 PM on Friday, April 12th. Please wait to buy guest tickets until you have confirmed your guest has been approved. Approval lists will be updated at lunch daily, and held at the bookstore. All forms will be turned in to the conduct office.
Remember, you MUST have your student ID in order to get in the door. Guests need their ID, as well. Students who are in possession of anything related to vaping/tobacco at the dance will not be allowed into the dance and will be suspended off campus the following week. Seniors who are off-campus suspended will lose the privilege to walk at graduation. Thank you for following all school and district expectations.
Arizona DECA will be awarding ten $1000.00 scholarships this year to our top seniors moving on to further their education. The application window is open and continues until April 12th. See Mrs. Moore or Mrs. Woodruff for details.
Western Region DECA is offering up to $5000.00 in scholarships to chapters to send students to the Emerging Leader Summit taking place from July 15 – 17th in San Diego! Advisors may apply for this scholarship for chapter members that would make great future candidates for state office and beyond! See Mrs. Moore or Mrs. Woodruff if you are an interested DECA member.
Mountain Ridge will host a Gifted Summer Camp June 10 – 13th from 8:15 AM to 2:15 PM. Grades 1 – 6, Building a Lunar, Brainy Mindful and Lego Robotics. Grades 7 – 9 High School Preview! Science exploration, spoken word café gifted self-advocacy and more. The cost of the camp is $165.00 per student.
If you are creating an app for Lenovo App Contest, please make sure to see Mrs. Moore for the March 28th showcase. Our top two app teams will be submitted for competition and a chance to win a trip to meet Lenovo Executive and Lenovo Swag…including a laptop. It is not too late to enter the contest!
