Congratulations to the Ridge Mock Trial team who placed 3rd at the Phoenix regional competition on Saturday.  In a grueling 12 hour, 5 trial day, they stayed focused and positive to attain the highest honor they have ever achieved as a team.  You Rock!

Congratulations to Reece Darnell and Matthew Roozendaal for being selected as Citizens of the Month for January.

WOW! Out of our small group of 10 students, 6 came home with awards from the Educators Rising State Conference.  Four students qualified for Nationals and will head to Dallas in June.  1st Place  Educators Rising Leadership Award-Lexi Von Hatten, 1st Place Lesson Planning & Delivery STEM-Siena Anderson, 4th Place: Lesson Planning & Delivery Humanities-Julianna Bentley, 5th Place: Job Interview-Katelyn Sweat, Master Student Achievement Awards, Katelyn Sweat and Lexi Von Hatten,

Merit Student Achievement Awards, Hunter Reynolds, Carlos Luna, Siena Anderson, Julianna Bentley.  MRHS was declared a Gold level chapter.  Only four schools in the state earned this award.

Congratulations to Coach Glonek’s Power Training Lifters of the Month for January, 1st hour Kaden Hicks, 2nd hour Jack Talbott, 3rd hour Hannah Gibson, 4th hour Robert Knox, 5th hour Tristan Carpenter, 6th hour Connor  Astorquia.  Congratulations to the after school training program lifters of the month  Sergio Ramos & Noah Brunson-Osborne.

The girls’ varsity tennis team dominated at every position defeating Mesa 9-0.  Winning at both singles and doubles included Neha Balamurugan, Emma Troyer, Alexis Messerly, Roshni Patel, Sai Konatam, & Anaika Sangelkar.   JV also won 8-1.  Both Varsity and JV records are 4-1.  Great start to the season girls!

The JW MARRIOTT at Desert Ridge is offering a part-time summer job to one of our students interested in culinary.   Please see Mrs. Debbie Moore in the DECA student store or Room C-103 for details on this opportunity.  Thanks to the National Academy Foundation and the Academy of Entrepreneurship at Mountain Ridge.

App Contest, please make sure to see Mrs. Moore for the March 28th showcase.  Our top two app teams will be submitted for competition and a chance to win a trip to meet Lenovo Executive and Lenovo swag, including a laptop.  It is not too late to enter the contest!  See Mrs. Moore in C-103 for details.

Looking for summer internship?  Valley Metro has one.  There is an application workshop on Thursday, March 28th so get working on this now!  Current high school sophomores and juniors interested in engineering, architecture, city planning and/or transit should apply for the 8-week summer program.  A $1000.00 unrestricted stipend is awarded to each participant at the end of the program.  Applications are due no later than April 3rd.  Google “valley metro intern program” or see Mrs. Moore in C-103. 

Registration for boys basketball camp will be going on through March.  Registration forms are in the bookstore.  Also, the boys basketball banquet will be on Wednesday, March 13th.  To RSVP please see Coach Lopez for details.

National Honor Society Invitations – It’s that time, again!  Invitations for National Honor Society are being delivered.  If you are a Sophomore or Junior with a GPA over 3.8 and are not yet a member, look out for your invitation.  If you don’t receive one and you meet the criteria, come see Mrs. Santschi in room E209.

Varsity Baseball against Desert Ridge and Freshman/JV Softball also against Desert Ridge are at home tonight.  Come out and support your teams!
