Please join us in congratulating Quenton “Q” Weaver who has been nominated as our November Rotary Student of the Month.  Quinton was nominated by our Student Support Services department.

The Fall blood drive is Tuesday, November 20th!  Are you at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and in good health?  If so, please consider donating blood.  Please schedule an appointment in Mr. Prey’s room C209. 

Best Buddies will meet in Room C113 on Thursday, November 8th during AcaPrep.  Mark your calendar for our meeting.

DECA will be taking yearbook pictures during the 11/8 meeting so be sure to get your AcaPrep pass and LOOK GOOD!

If you are in the Marketing classroom be sure to get information on the Junior Achievement Scholarship that is due Friday, April 26th at 5:00 PM.  Amounts typically range from $2000.00 - $3000.00.

Boys and Girls Cross Country teams both placed 3rd at Sectionals on November 1st qualifying them for State.  Girls were led by medalist Emily Simon placing 6th with a time 19:02.  The boys had three medalists with Austin Clayton in 10th, Gavin Allen 8th and the AIA Division 1 Section 2 Champion was Hunter Krasa with a time of 16:07.  State is next Saturday, November 10th at Cave Creek Golf Course.

Congrats to our Marching Band who had their best performance of the year and won the high General Effect caption at the State Marching Festival this past Saturday!  They are advancing to Championships at ASU with their highest score of the season: 87.64 and are currently ranked 4th in the State!  Way to go Band!  Come out to cheer for them this weekend as they compete in their second to last show of the season, the Arizona Marching Band Association Championships, this Saturday at 8PM at Campo Verde High School in Gilbert.

Way to go Wind Ensemble!  Mr. Scott Casagrande from Music For All visited with our Wind Ensemble students and parents this weekend to congratulate them in person for their selection as a Featured Band at the 2019 National Concert Band Festival!

Any Sophomores and Juniors interested in learning more about West-MEC CTE programs should attend the presentation during AcaPrep Thursday, November 8th.  West-MEC programs provide students with needed skills to get a job in a variety of industries.  Get an AcaPrep pass from the Counseling office to attend.

Seniors who plan to attend UofA but have not completed the application can attend AcaPrep on Thursday, November 8th with the UofA representative to get help.  Get an AcaPrep pass from the Counseling office to attend.

Interact is collecting fuzzy socks that will be donated to children with cancer.  If you have any unopened packs of fuzzy socks, please take them to Room E208 by November 13th.  We will also be accepting money donations by November 12th.  

Did you know that Aditi Galande is the State Officer DECA?  Now you know!

Are you ready to take a selfie with Santa?  Gather your friends, family and your teammates and come have breakfast with Santa.  Come in your ugly holiday sweater or pajamas and get some selfies together.  The event will be held Saturday, December 1st from 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM at Applebees at Arrowhead.  Pancakes, bacon and a drink and time with Santa!  Tickets are $8.00 and you can get them from CTSO members like DECA or FBLA or come by the student store.  Happy Holidays!
