What: Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor visited her namesake high school and their innovative program, the Academy of American Studies. The program started with a flag raising ceremony by ROTC as the O’Connor brass band quartet played the National Anthem. Justice O’Connor discussed civic discourse and current political cartoons. Top academic seniors lunched with Justice O’Connor, as she offered words of encouragement for students and the school.
