What: KIDS 4 COWS For the 8th year, Flynn’s first graders are trying to raise $500 in order to buy a dairy cow through the nonprofit organization, Heifer International. Heifer International will deliver this cow to an orphanage in Africa to supply milk to children who have lost their parents to AIDS or war. Please help Flynn’s first graders with their community service project by donating just $1 and be entered in a drawing to win. Over the past seven years, Flynn’s first graders have raised $12,500 and purchased 25 pregnant dairy cows to help others in need of basic nutrition. The Arizona Football Officials Association receives input from Varsity Football Crews during the season as to the Sportsmanship of the varsity football teams at their games each week on a weighted scale to determine top teams/coaches to be recognized as the #1 Sportsmanship team in each Division level. The AzFOA will present BCHS with the award at the Division 1 State Championship game on Saturday November 26 at the University of Phoenix stadium. |

Full Name: St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliane and United Food Bank Title/Grade: Mountain Ridge High School Recognition: 2011 National Student Food Drive Name of Award: John Van Hengel Memorial Trophy Mountain Ridge High School has emerged as the winner and now five-time champion of the National Student Food Drive. Mountain Ridge completed a “clean sweep” of all four NSFD categories, collecting the most food of any high school, the most cash donations, the most meals (a combination of food and funds with each dollar raised equaling the seven meals St. Mary’s can provide) as well as the most on-line donations though a virtual food drive available to all of the schools. |

The West Wing PE department is raising money for the Andre House which feeds the homeless in downtown Phoenix.
