DVUSD Hosts Community Forums for Superintendent Search
Employees, parents, and community members can have a voice in the selection of Deer Valley Unified School District’s next superintendent. The district is working with consulting firm Jim Huge & Associates, conducting listening sessions to help develop a profile and search for the next superintendent. Three public forums will be held:
Tuesday, April 5 6:30-7:30 p.m. District Office 20402 N. 15th Ave., Phoenix Wednesday, April 6 6:30-7:30 p.m. Mountain Ridge HS Library 22800 N. 67th Ave., Glendale Thursday, April 7 7-8 p.m. Boulder Creek HS Mini Auditorium 40404 N. Gavilan Peak Pkwy, Anthem
Attendees will be asked what characteristics they want in a superintendent and what issues will the superintendent face in the next 12-18 months. In addition, a more extensive survey can be found at the district website, www.dvusd.org. Advertisements have appeared in two national on-line publications: Education Week and American Association of School Administrators.
Deadline for applications is April 11. The DVUSD Governing Board intends to name the superintendent at the May 10 meeting.
