DVUSD Recommends Board Candidates to Fill Vacancy
The Deer Valley Unified School District’s Collaboration Team forwarded Robert W. Edmund as its Board Candidate recommendation plus Martin N. Hernandez, Jr. as alternate #1 and Christine Henry as alternate #2 to Dr. Don Covey, County Schools Superintendent.
The Collaboration Team, comprised of the Governing Board President, Superintendent, and Teachers Association President met to review the applications, evaluate community and employee feedback and select three nominees.
The Deer Valley School District received community feedback from its March 7th Community Forum. Thirteen applicants had the opportunity to introduce themselves and respond to community-written questions about the district. Each applicant had two minutes for each response.
Deer Valley will be notified of its new appointed Board Member by April 11. All three candidate profiles and other information can be found on the district website, www.dvusd.org. The district would like to thank the community for its participation in the Board vacancy process.
