Your children will improve their fine motor skills by creating super cute puppets with pipe cleaners, pom poms and yarn! Puppets allow children to develop creativity to many ways, in the creation of the puppet and then in the playing and storytelling. Using a work glove, create the eyes, nose, mouth and hair using a variety of creative materials.

Raising a Reader- July 2nd – Wednesday 9-11am

This is a series of 8 classes that introduces reading to toddlers and preschoolers. Each week families are provided with 5 books that supports early literacy. Children become excited about reading as they hear stories, play games and make several take home activities. It’s never too early to introduce your children to reading. These classes will be offered at North Valley Regional Library, 40410 North Gavilan Peak Pkwy. in Anthem. You may register on line at www.mcldaz.org(under events) or contact Luci Kauffman 602-652-3000 for registration.

Did you know that Deer Valley Unified School District offers a free preschool program to children from low income families? This program is called Head Start. We are now accepting pre-applications for Head Start for the 2014-2015 school year. The program gives priority to children who are four years of age. However, there is a possibility that we may open a 3 year old class for next year. Please register at the DVUSD Head Start office located at the 20402 N 15th Ave. Phoenix, AZ or call 623-445-4991

We look forward to seeing you and don’t forget about the other classes listed in our newsletter.

Stay Cool,
