United States Naval Academy is offering Summer Seminar and Summer STEM programs United States Naval Academy is offering Summer Seminar and Summer STEM programs this summer. Naval Academy Summer Seminar offers an opportunity for rising high school seniors to experience the academy for one week. Governor's Youth Commission: APPLY NOW FOR THE 2022-2023 GOVERNOR'S YOUTH COMMISSION PHOENIX - The Governor's Office of Youth, Faith, and Family (GOYFF) is seeking inspiring youth leaders from Arizona high schools to serve on the 2022-2023 Governor's Youth Commission (GYC). The GYC brings together a diverse group of high school students from all fifteen Arizona counties to identify and address the greatest challenges facing Arizona’s youth by developing innovative community impact projects, establishing partnerships with young leaders across the state, and advising the Governor. Commissioners are selected through a competitive application process. If you know a high school student with a passion for service and leadership, please share this unique opportunity to serve as an ambassador in a nationally recognized leadership program! Applicants must be sophomore, junior, or senior students during the 2022-2023 school year. Senior Scholars and Awards: Seniors! Did you earn any scholarships that you want to be recognized in the Senior Scholars and Awards book given at senior checkout? We want to know about your accomplishments! Please bring information to the counseling office or email it to Mary.shaba@dvusd.org before April 14th to have it printed in the Scholarship Awards book! Save the date for the Ceremony on May 9th at 6:00 PM!!!!


 

Student Parking for 22/23 School year: Incoming Senior Parking: Starts April 18th at 9:00 am and Runs through the end of the day on April 29th (Incoming Seniors can still Apply through May 19th along with the Juniors but are not guaranteed a spot in the main Lot) Incoming Junior Parking: Starts May 2nd at 9:00 am through the end of the day on May 19th Parking Applications will NOT be accepted During the Summer. After just 16 credits – one semester – you can complete the Pre-Apprenticeship for Electricians courses. Courses prepare you to move into an electrician apprenticeship and begin securing your financial future in a career building complex, high-tech construction projects. Color Guard: Want to be part of a fun, exciting, and competitive activity? Color guard tryouts and information sessions for fall 2022 will be in the band room Wednesday and Thursday, May 11th and 12th, from 4:30-6:30. BCHS Jaguar Pride Color Guard is a no-cut activity so bring clothes you can move in and a positive attitude. Dance skills are helpful but not required!


 

Senior Award Ceremony: All Seniors receiving Scholarships and Awards. Our Scholarship Award Ceremony is on May 9th at 6:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. All Guests are welcome


 

Graduation: Our BCHS graduation is on Monday, May 16th at 7:00 pm at The State Farm Stadium. Come out to celebrate the BCHS Class of 2022! We are so excited that we are back to open seating where all attendees are welcome (no ticket necessary)! Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors: For Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors: •Monday, May 16th is an 11:00 release (Graduation is this night)•Tuesday, May 17th is a full day (normal) schedule.•Wednesday, May 18th is a full day (normal) schedule. Final exams will occur in Periods 4/5, 6, and 7.•Thursday, May 19th is a half-day early release at 11 am. Students will take exams in periods 1, 2, and 3.•Students will keep their BCHS iPad over the summer this year.


 

Senior Check-Out: Senior Checkout day is May 12th from 8 am-1 pm: ◦Start at the front of the Administration Office ◦Have your iPads charged and reset (back to the “Hello” screen) ◦Pay all fines in advance


 

Senior Finals: Senior finals are May 10th and May 11th. ◦On May 10th, Seniors will take their final exams in Periods 4/5, 6, and 7. ◦On May 11th, Seniors will take final exams in Periods 1, 2, and 3. ◦The seniors’ school ends after period 3 and will be released to the practice field for our Parent Organization Senior Celebration before leaving campus one last time.


 

No backpack: Starting Monday, May 9th and for the remainder of the school year, Boulder Creek High School students will need to leave their backpacks, knapsacks, sports bags, or large purses at home. This process, in alignment with other DVUSD High Schools, helps support a safe and positive end to our school year. Students should only bring the necessities to school. If necessary, your student may use a small bag such as a drawstring tote or a small shopping bag to carry necessary items.


 

Yearbook Distribution: Hello Jags! Distribution of yearbooks will be on Thursday, May 5th, AND Friday, May 6th in the auditorium lobby during LUNCH only. Juniors and Seniors will be allowed to get their books on THURSDAY, May 5th. Sophomores and Freshmen will be allowed to get their books on FRIDAY, May 6th. Please, do NOT send your students to lunch early to get their books. We won’t be ready until 4th lunch. Students MUST have their student ID and the sales ticket (from this packet) in order to get their book. If the ticket is RED, that means a student ordered a personalized book. They will go to the personalization line in the lobby. If the ticket is GREEN, that means a student did not order a personalized book. They will go to their alpha line in the lobby. Please make sure all tickets are passed out to your THIRD-period class before Thursday’s lunches. Any books not picked up during distribution days will be delivered to classrooms the following Tuesday or Wednesday. After that, if a student doesn’t get their book, they will have to get it from the bookstore beginning Monday, May 16th. They will NOT be available during senior checkout. They are NOT allowed to pick up anyone else’s book unless I get an email from that person, giving them permission AND they have the sales ticket. If they did NOT order a book, and they want to buy one--we are limited on sales and they will be in the bookstore beginning May 9th.
