Army ROTC National High School Scholarship: Army ROTC National High School Scholarship Opportunity. Army ROTC provides full tuition and fees (or $10K for room and board) scholarships to over 2000 high school students each year. In addition to the tuition and fees, the scholarship pays $1200 annually for books and a stipend of $420 per month (for up to 10 months a year.) Dual Enrollment Spring Registration: Dual Enrollment Spring registration has begun! Please remind students that haven’t registered that the deadline is February 14th, 2022. Students can now enroll online through their student center at www.my.maricopa.edu, they can call 480.517.8080, or email (lucero.curiel@riosalado.edu) or text (480.517.8782). Students that request enrollment via email or text need to include their MEID and section numbers.
ASVAB-CEP Testing: ASVAB-CEP Testing: Are you a Senior or Junior? Are you interested in identifying your career strengths and receiving an inventory assessment and feedback? Are you interested in the possibility of joining the military after high school? If you said “YES” to one of the above questions, consider taking the ASVAB-CEP Test (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery-Career Exploration Program) on Wednesday, Feb. 9th from 7:30 am-noon in the main auditorium. Joaquin Bustoz Math-Science Honors Program (JBMSHP): The Joaquin Bustoz Math-Science Honors Program (JBMSHP) at Arizona State University is now accepting applications for the 2022 FREE summer program (5/30 - 7/8). The JBMSHP is intended for mature and motivated students who are interested in academic careers requiring mathematics, science, or engineering-based coursework and who are typically underrepresented in those fields of study. Students will have an opportunity to earn college credit. For more information and application, click on this link: https://jbmshp.asu.edu/summer_program. Interested in playing Tennis? Interested in boys or girls tennis? An informational meeting will be held next Tues., January 25th after school in rm. 314 with Coach Naber and Coach Baxley. Girls tennis tryouts will be Monday, February 7th, and Tuesday, February 8th. Remember... you must be cleared through the athletic secretary, Mrs. Harrelson in order to tryout!
Hoopcoming Dance: Hoopcoming Dance is around the corner. Students if you are planning to bring a guest from another school, please pick up your Guest Dance Contract in the front office, near the receptionist's desk. Guest Contracts are due no later than February 2, 2022, at 2:30 pm. No exceptions! You have 8 school days to complete the form and return it to the office. Buy your tickets on "Hometown Ticketing." Tickets are $20 plus hometown ticketing fees. Dress code: semi-formal The date is February 5th, 7-9 pm. See you there Jags!!!

Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising: During Flex Time on February 3, students are invited to attend a presentation from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. A few majors offered are the apparel industry, digital marketing, creative industry studies, and merchandising and marketing. Come with questions and learn all about what FIDIM offers their students.
United States Naval Academy is offering Summer Seminar and Summer STEM programs United States Naval Academy is offering Summer Seminar and Summer STEM programs this summer. Naval Academy Summer Seminar offers an opportunity for rising high school seniors to experience the academy for one week. Dance Meeting Dance Club/NHSDA members, Our next meeting is rescheduled to Thursday Feb 10th 2:15-3:15 pm in the dance studio (room 130). All levels are welcome and no prior training is required. At our meeting Officers will teach a Hip-Hop combination! We will have a new style each meeting. Come dance with us!
Arizona Girls Program Educational Program ATTENTION FEMALE JUNIORS! Arizona Girls Program is hosting a week-long unique summertime educational program for high school juniors that focuses on participation and personal experience in a model state, complete with governmental bodies and elected public officials. The seminar will be held June 5th – 11th at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. The cost is $100 per girl (The cost is refunded after participation). Interested students must pick-up and complete a student nomination application from the counseling office or click HERE. Applications are due to Ms. Sherrod (patricia.sherrod@dvusd.org) by Wednesday, Feb 16th.
