EQ Motto of the Week: Leadership requires team-focus above self-focus. When students work in groups it is all too common to have one student who tries to do everything on their own or to have a student who tries to do as little as possible. This week we explain the value of team-focus over self-focus when working with groups. Key ideas:•A good leader sees themselves as a member of the team, not as superior to the rest of the group.•When teams are productive, everyone does their part to contribute to the whole. Doing less than your fair share, especially at the expense of other people’s energy and time, is far from a worthy goal because while the immediate pay off may be less work, the result is less trust and respect from your team. •The most valuable member of a team is the one who puts the team above themselves and directs their actions towards the common goal (getting the work done) and not their personal goal – whether that goal is leading or slacking. “Leadership is an action, not a position.”-Donald McGannon

All 3 girls relays were first and second scoring huge points for the team. Way to go Jags!
