Library News: East Side Story: A 1950’s Mystery Party Friday, March 13th from 5:30 to 8 pm At the library. Hey Daddy-o. It’s 1955 and Fontaine City has a problem with teenage street gangs. The hot rod racing gang called the D-Birds and their ladies, the Pink Chicks, rule the east side of town. The Pit Viper motorcycle gang runs the west side of town, and their ladies are the Black Widows. If either of these gangs ends up on the other’s turf, a white knuckle rumble may break out and cause chaos in the streets. The cheerleaders believe that bringing the teens of Fontaine City together will solve the gang problem, so they have scheduled the Friendship Sock Hop. You have been invited. This is where your story begins. Stop by the library to register today.

All things E.Q. 3/2-3/6: Do you allow the opportunity for success, or have you already chosen failure? When students doubt themselves or focus on their limitations and shortcomings, they begin to believe they can't create success for themselves. Of course, it is natural to have doubts and to be insecure now and then, but when we keep letting these thoughts run unchecked through our brain, we start to believe them. “Argue for your limitations, and sure enough they're yours.”-Richard Bach When doubts and insecurities come, we can replace them with more empowering thoughts. When we believe we will succeed; we will do the work needed to succeed. That success may not come at the exact time or in the exact way that we expect, but if we truly believe that we will be successful, and we match our outlook with effort, success will come. This week, we want students to notice and replace any negative expectations they may have with more hopeful and positives ones. "May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears." -Nelson Mandela
